Kangaroo Court
.
This tale occurred some
time ago, two years to be exact,
The boys they kept it secret
though, no poems would it attract.
But, alas I found out anyway,
my sources may be slow,
At last the story comes
to light, let's get on with the show.
.
North Crime Unit on surveillance,
one partner had the eye,
The other looking round
about, spying on their guy.
When down the lane they
spied it, hopping to and fro,
A grey haired, live marsupial,
a 'Roo, mate, don't ya know?
.
Now how this Aussie creature,
got up here to our land,
The boys got very interested,
curiosity was fanned.
It seems the 'Roo was stolen,
from the pen in Stanley Park,
Late that evening by a crook,
under cover in the dark.
.
But, no buyer could the
crook find, so he put it on the streets,
And left some telltale evidence,
and stained and stinking seats.
The J.P. swore a warrant,
on the evidence of smell,
A distinctive odour in the
car, was what he heard them tell.
.
Some fur was also left behind,
now the hard part would begin,
They had to get comparisons,
so they could tie it in.
So to the Park North Crime
went, to get some Kanga' hair,
Two members were selected,
who would answer to this dare.
.
They climbed atop the fences,
jumped right there down inside,
The little 'Roos were scared
of them, and ran to try and hide.
But, then the little creatures,
turned to make a stand,
Against the two intruders
who, were standing on their land.
.
Then the fight got started,
two cops against the pack,
Battered, bruised and bloody,
the boys were on attack.
Samples slowly gathered,
just one more 'Roo remains,
When they saw the size of
him, it brought on all the pains.
.
He was six feet, six, and
all could see, no fear was in his eyes,
He seemed to be just waiting
for, the bruised and battered guys.
Sometimes they say discretion,
is the best way to be brave,
So the boys decided then,
that their asses they should save.
.
But there is a happy ending,
to this Kanga-napping case,
The 'Roo was safely back
at home, the boys had saved some face.
Our crook now faced some
justice, his future looks quite silty,
Kangaroo Court of our fair
land, has just pronounced him guilty.
