Drug Rat

.
The subject of this poem today, is "Mud Flap" Michael Lynch,
Who was riding on the Granville Mall, hunting perps to pinch.
Now Mike, a former beatman, used to walking in the skids,
Has a nose for finding drugs, on both adults and kids.
.
He also has experience, getting info from his "rats",
Today his skills would intertwine, with a boost in all his stats.
Groups of teens were sitting round, at each end of the street,
While Mike approached the first one, they all got to their feet.
.
The second group was farther on, sitting huddled all around,
Intently watching something, between them on the ground.
This act caught Mike's attention, the first group moved away,
He watched them with an eagle eye, to see if they would stay.
.
Then he saw some movement, a white package was exchanged,
It had to be a drug deal, that was earlier arranged.
So Mike got on his bicycle, the pedals flying now,
A flash of blue and yellow, as he closed the gap and how.
.
He was closing on them quickly, his eyes were growing large,
The group had still not seen him, as he made the uphill charge.
When suddenly a girl in there, prepared herself to leave,
She grabbed the mystery parcel, and shoved it up her sleeve.
.
Mike could smell a drug arrest, as he skidded to a stop,
And dove right off his bicycle, again a skid road cop.
He singled out the holder, and grabbed her by the arm,
Squeezed hard through her sweater, to keep himself from harm.
.
The girl was in a panic, as she tried to pull away,
Mike kept tightly hold of her, to be sure that she would stay.
He then rolled up the sweater sleeve, to get the drugs in that,
And found instead, a freshly squashed, and very dead white rat.
