How Much Is That
Doggie In The Window?
.
A code four
broadcast, on the air, by dog car one eight three,
This stolen
car has just been dumped, the suspect I still see.
Get containment
units 'round this spot, as Shadow starts to look,
To find the
lone male suspect, and see what else he took.
.
The guy was
scared and running fast, but four legs beats out two,
Shadow quickly
closed the gap, as he disappeared from view.
The focus of
the search now switched, behind every rock and log,
Forget about
the bad guy now, let's find the missing dog.
.
Where oh where,
is my little dog gone, sang Eleven Twenty Three,
Shadow is now
missing, while the suspect's running free.
Colin Renkema
starts to look, through every street and lane,
As all the
cover units, start calling Shadow's name.
.
The search
was going badly, as the panic in them grows,
Who knows what
evil lurks the streets, I'm sure the Shadow knows.
Then a break
came on the phone, from a man just passing by,
He saw the
dog just down the street, but, he really sounded high.
.
He said the
dog was in a spot, just watching people pass,
In a nearby
building there, behind a door of glass.
The units all
responded, to see if they could help,
When he saw
his friends outside, Shadow gave a yelp.
.
But now the
problem facing them, as all looked 'round about,
How to get
the door unlocked, then get poor Shadow out.
All options
were exhausted, ideas had all been hashed,
Finally, decision
made, the door of glass was smashed.
.
How much is
that doggie in the window, asks a song by Patti Page,
In his case,
close to fifteen grand, when a dog has come of age.
But Shadow's
now worth fifteen three, adding in the fee,
Of repairing
all the damage done, to try and set him free.
