The Ballad of Big
Lou Williams
(Sung to the
tune of: The Beverley Hillbillies)
.
Come and listen
to the story of a man named Lou,
Convicted of
assault, don't know what he's gonna do.
Judge said,
Lou, you gotta work inside,
'Till probation
term is done and you get to take a ride.
Radio, that
is!
Answer phones!
Dispatch calls!
.
Well the first
thing ya know, old Lou was heard to say,
There ain't
no way, that you can make me stay.
In a no-brain
job, just giving out those calls,
Before to long,
I'll be climbing up the walls.
Stress leave!
Sick time too!
.
The news quickly
spread to Communications staff,
I think it's
fair to say, that, they didn't get a laugh.
Said each one
there, I hope he has the guts,
To show up
now, cause, we'll surely have his nuts!
In a jar that
is!
Smoked and
pickled too!
.
Now it's time
to give the word, to the lawyer and to Lou,
It seems Communications
staff, are coming after you.
You're both
invited in next week, to their locality,
To sit and
do their job, so you can really see.
Set a spell!
Put your headset
on!
Y'all be ready
now, y'hear!!!
