Deb
Just a word about
a friend, who fought a valiant fight,
Her battle may
be over, and these words won't make things right.
The pain she
had been fighting, has finally gone away,
Ours is just
beginning, to settle in to stay.
.
She is gone,
but, not forgotten, 'nor will she ever be,
The legacy she
leaves behind, for all of us to see.
Two children
and a grandson, to whom she's never gone,
All those in
her family, who must now carry on.
.
The scores of
people everywhere, who have known her for years,
Just a few knew
of her illness, her smile hid all the tears.
She always had
a kind word, when I passed her in the hall,
Her cheery voice
on radio, when she dispatched a call.
.
But, do not dwell
in sadness, remember Deb in life,
A Daughter, Friend,
a Sister, loving Mom, devoted Wife.
Calm through
any crisis, she always found a way,
To keep things
in perspective, to get through every day.
.
So Deb, I know
you're watching, and will always be nearby,
Though it will
be difficult, we will try hard not to cry.
Instead we will
remember, all the good things deep inside,
How much you
meant to all of us, we all can take great pride.
.
In having met
and known you, to have had you as a friend,
While you may
have left us, the friendship will not end.
We must continue
onward, with a minimum of fuss,
Remembering forevermore,
"You will always be with us".
