HOW Sir_Fuzz NICK CAME INTO BEING
This nick has absolutely nothing to do with Domination and Submission as
has been questioned more than once, here is the story of how it all happened:
When I first started online way back in 1981 there was no publicly accessible
Internet. I was accessing local bulletin boards at the awesome speed of
300 bps, when 1200 bps came into being we thought we had died and gone
to heaven. But, I digress, my nickname almost from the beginning was The_Fuzz
as in the old '60's expression "Here come da Fuzz". I figured it was appropriate
considering my career.
The nick remained The_Fuzz even after I first started on Internet Relay
Chat. Then one night in one of my regular channels, a lady friend, "Scarlett-"
was being badly harrassed by an overly aggressive male. Even after repeated
warnings he would not stop. Nothing appeared to be happening as far as
stopping him, so I stepped in and kicked and banned the fellow. Even then
he continued so I had a little chat with him and convinced him to stop.
Scarlett_ was pleased with the intervention and made the comment "You are
a knight in shining armour". At that point I added Sir to the nick. We
had a short online ceremony where Scarlett_ went through the routine of
dubbing me a knight. I've always loved the Medievel Era and Knights of
The Round Table stories, so here was my chance to vicariously become a
knight. The change was popular among all my friends online and despite
trying to change it back to The_Fuzz on occassion, the nick has stuck with
me.
Besides which, the logo for my Desktop Publiching and Web Page Design business
is the same jousting knight you see as on my page. My business is called
Blue Knight Photographics
