This episode focuses on a small segment of the first Final Fantasy game.

Synopsis

Kevin falls under the spell of Astos and gives the prince some sleeping water. The N-Team learn about the Light Crystal which would break the spell. Astos has it and they get it back.

Character differences

Astos: He's portrayed in a similar manner as seen in Final Fantasy. The only real difference is that he doesn't want to be the monstrous form he really is. In the game, he turns into a monster. Also, the game's monster is green and on the show it's purple.

Matoya: Though not named, she's the witch in the episode. Her crystal is stolen in both game and episode. Her role is pretty accurate in this episode.

Narrator: On the medieval world of Final Fantasy, an evil plot to overthrow the reigning prince reveals a side of Captain N you have ever seen.

[Out of a warp in a forest come Keivn, Mega Man, Kid Icarus, and Lana]

Kevin: Whoa. This game looks awesome. I bet we could find something more exciting to do than having lunch with some drippy prince.

Lana: Now, Kevin. The prince is a good friend of mine. So be nice.

Man: Stop! Thief! Help! Help!

Kevin: Nothing wrong with some game action to work up my appetite.

[The four run over to the man]

Man: A couple of armored bandits just robbed my magic shop. That's what happened. I just know that evil Astos is behind this thievery.

Lana: Who's Astos?

Man: Trust me, Miss. He's a man you don't wanna know.

[Up high, a warp opens and a witch on a broom, Matoya, comes out. She flies forward. Kid Icarus flies up, unknowingly, and she collides with him in the back. They gasp and fall. Kevin, Mega Man, and the shopkeeper run over there]

Kevin: Are you two all right? Can I help you ma'am?

Matoya: Yeah. Gimme a half-a pound of salami and a quarter pound of eye of newt.

Mega Man: [annoyed] What do we look like? A mega magic shop?

Broom: No. You look like a tin can with arms and legs.

[Mega Man just stares]

Lana: And... we're late for lunch with the prince. We'll have to hurry.

[Another man, Astos, moves out to look from behind a tree]

Kevin: Oh, all right. But I'd rather be fighting crooks than visiting some boring prince any day.

Astos: So, the famous Captain N is visiting the prince. This may work out even better than I planned.

[At the prince's castle]

Kid Icarus: Wowacus. You sure have had an exciting life your highness.

Mega Man: Yeah. Did you really win all those mega battles?

Prince: When duty calls, you answer. Right, Captain N?

Kevin: Y-Yeah. Right, prince. Anybody want anything while I'm up?

[They just look at the prince]

Lana: I love listening to your stories. Please, tell us more.

[Kevin leaves and enters another room]

Kevin: Oh, if I had a castle; a whole royal army to back me up... I'd be pretty awesome, too.

Astos: All that and more could be yours.

[Kevin stops and turns to him]

Kevin: Who are you? [Astos approaches]

Astos: Just think of me as a fairy godfather who can grant your every wish.

Kevin: Ahuh. You're kidding, right?

Astos: Not in the least. [He moves his hand over the ball on his staff] You could have power and treasure beyond your wildest dreams. [The staff glows and Kevin is in a daze] Beautiful maidens would fool at your feet. [The staff glows more brightly] All you have to do is overthrow the prince and take his kingdom.

Kevin: Overthrow the prince... Take his kingdom. [His eyes turn yellow]

[Astos reaches in his robe and gets a vial]

Astos: But first, we must help the prince catch up on his beauty sleep.

[Back at the table, Kevin comes in with a pitcher of water]

Kevin: More water, your highness?

Prince: Thank you, Captain N. All this talk does make one thirsty. [Kevin fills it and the prince drinks] So, tell me about some of your adventures. You must be tired of hearing about me. [He falls forward, face into his food. Lana goes over to him]

Lana: Are we that boring? [Kevin laughs] Kevin, this is not funny. Did you do something to the prince?

Kevin: Overthrow the prince... Take his kingdom.

Kid Icarus: [gasps and flies over to Kevin. He snaps his fingers] Snap out of it, Captain N-icus. You're talking nuts.

Mega Man: He must be under some kind of mega magic spell. But how?

[A lightning bolt destroys the table. Astos and a warp appear]

Astos: [laughs] Come, my Captain. Together we will conquer this land once and for all time. [He and Kevin warp out]

Mega Man: How do we keep getting into these mega messes?

[In a forest, a warp opens over a swampy area and the three N-Team members drop in]

Lana: [mutters] Oh, I wish the shopkeeper had told us this witch's warp would land us in...

Kid Icarus and Mega Man: Quicksand!

[They all begin to sink]

Kid Icarus: Don't panicus. I just have to reach my bow and rope arrow. [He does and fires it at a tree branch. It provides a rope and they pull themselves out. Lana lets out a sigh of relief, but then a broom's handle is pointed at her]

Matoya: Hands up, trespassers. Move one hair and I'll stone ya' [She waves the broom around. It turns green]

Broom: Hey, if you don't stop that, I'm gonna toss my bristles! [It turns back]

Matoya: Oh.

[Mega Man and Kid Icarus put their hands up]

Lana: Don't you remember me? I'm Princess Lana of Videoland.

[Matoya's broom makes a red glow around Lana and turns her to stone]

Matoya: [laughs] Now you're a statue, missy. When I say, "Don't move", ya' don't move!

{Commercial break}

Narrator: When we last saw our heroes, Princess Lana, Kid Icarus, and Mega Man were faced with a dangerous task. Finding Captain N and breaking the evil spell under which he had fallen.

[The glow is still on the statue of Lana]

Kid Icarus: Uh, don't you remember usicus?

Matoya: What are you doin' in these parts?

[A bottle appears over Lana and pours a liquid, removing the stone]

Mega Man: We need your help. Our friend's been mega blinded by an evil spell.

Matoya: Hmm... The Light Crystal would do the trick. Whoever looks through it can see people for who they really are. Only trouble is, some guy named Wheat Toast stole it from me years ago.

Kid Icarus: Wheat Toast?

Lana: Where have I heard that before? Wheat Toast... Sweet Toast... [gasps] Wait a minute, she means Astos. Astos has the Light Crystal. Now, all we have to do is [she lifts up Mega Man] sneak into the castle, find the crystal, free Kevin, and save the kingdom.

Broom: Who'll be countin' the seconds?

Narrator: A while later, at Astos' castle...

[Kevin is sword fighting with another soldier. They fight for a bit, then a second soldier enters. They fight more, then Kevin jumps up with his power pad and floats. He takes out his zapper and blasts the soldiers' swords. He lands]

Astos: Bravo! Bravo! [walks to Kevin] With you training my warriors, we'll easily defeat the prince's army.

[Lana looks from behind a tree]

Lana: Ok, you two keep them distracted while I sneak inside. This magic key we found on the prince will really come in handy.

[Moments later, Mega Man and Kid Icarus are in a suit that resembles the one Astos' soldiers wear]

Lana: Are you sure you're gonna be ok in there? That suit looks a few sizes too big. [she pulls open the face piece. Kid Icarus is frowning]

Kid Icarus: Next time we should just stop at a tailor.

[Lana opens the lower part]

Mega Man: I just hope it doesn't get too hot in here. My circuits might mega overload.

[Lana closes the lower part]
[Astos watches Kevin fight more. The Kid Icarus/Mega Man "soldier" walks to Astos]

Kid Icarus: I hear you're looking for w-warriors to join your army.

Astos: Do you have any experience overthrowing kingdoms?

[Lana runs into the castle]

Kid Icarus: Uh, I used to work for Mother Brain, but I got laid off.

[In the castle, Astos leads the "soldier" to a door. He unlocks it]

Astos: All new recruits start with guard duty. [They enter the room. The Light Crystal is here] Do a good job and you'll move up in the ranks in no time. [He slaps the "soldier" on the back and it separates, revealing Mega Man and Kid Icarus]

Kid Icarus: Ow!

[A soldier looks at them]

Astos: Hey! You're an imposter. Get him! I mean, them.

Mega Man: What a time to get stuck in a tin suit. [He backs up, but hits a wall. Astos swings his sword, but Mega Man's hand comes down and a saw blade cuts the sword]

[A soldier swings at Kid Icarus and it removes the armor on him]

Kid Icarus: Gee. Thanks. [He gets the crystal and goes to Mega Man] Quick, Mega Man. Take the crystal. [Mega Man does and Kid Icarus lifts him out of the armor piece. Kevin and more soldiers are at the doorway] Uh oh.

Astos: Captain N, stop them. They stole my crystal.

[Kevin tried to take it from Mega Man, but Mega Man throws it and Kid Icarus gets it. A soldier grabs Kid Icarus. he throw it. A soldier catches it. Mega Man trips the soldier and another soldier now has it]

Astos: Good work, my warriors. Captain N has trained you well.

[The soldier witht he crystal takse off the helmet and is really Lana]

Lana: He certainly has. [She holds up the crystal and it makes a big flash. Kevin returns to normal]

Astos: No, no, no! I don't want to be me! [He becomes a large pig-soldier]

[Astos' soldiers become green creatures]

Kevin: Hey, what's happening?

Mega Man: Could we talk about this later? [He jumps on the foot of the creature who is holding Kid Icarus. The creature releases Kid Icarus]

Astos: After them, you fools!

[The N-Team runs out the door. Kevin zaps the two large axes over the door and they fall, blocking the way. Astos shoots a beam and destroys the axes. The N-Team runs, but they are in a dead end. The two creatures attack with clubs. In turn: Kevin, Lana, Mega Man, and Kid Icarus each dodge a club swing]

Kid Icarus: Whoa!

[One creature swings at Kevin, but breaks a hole in the wall. The N-Team run for it. Lana pushes the creatures over. They run out to the drawbridge, which is rising. Astos is running after them. They stop at the end. Kevin uses the power pad and carries Lana. Kid Icarus tries to carry Mega Man, but they descend and nearly miss the moat, which has alligators]

[Back at the castle, Matoya puts a herb in a cup.

Matoya: This magic herb will put some hair on his chest.

Kevin: Uh, couldn't we let him sleep a little longer? He probably needs the rest. [Lana frowns] I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

[Matoya gives the prince the herb and he wakes up]

Prince: So, what's for dessert?

[The N-Team laughs]

Lana: You're not still jealous of the prince, are you Kevin?

Kevin: No way, I learned my lesson. And I'm happy just being Captain N.

Lana: You're also a real prince. [She gives him a kiss on the cheek]
