Amelia Marshall joined All My Children in the Fall of 1996 as lawyer Belinda Keifer. A role she took over from Kimberly Hawthorne. Fans accepted Ms Marshall immediately who before landing the role on AMC had a seven year run on Guiding Light as Gilly Grant. Born April 2 in Albany Georgia, Marshall's first job was as a telephone repair supervisor for SouthWestern Bell. Marshall met Kent Schaffer. Marshall wanted to achieve her dreams in New York so she put off any relationship with him. Later the two reconnected and married and in January 1998 Amelia gave birth to their first child, a son. Kent and Amelia maintain a long distance relationship. He is a lawyer in Houston. Marshall's theatre work includes Cats, West Side Story and Big Deal. When she first joined All My Children, her character Belinda was thrown into a big storyline involving Belinda's and her brother Noah's(Keith Hamilton Cobb)estranged mother Rose (Leslie Uggums) return and their dealing with the mob. After Keith Hamilton Cobb and Sydney Penny(Julia) left, Belinda was thrown into a supporting backburner role. In an interview in Soap Opera Digest Marshall stated "To say I'm disappointed that I still don't have a story is an understatement." However things began to pick-up for Amelia when Belinda met the mysterious CEO of Corview Inc Miles Christopher(Roger Guiniever Smith). But their romance and storyline has been put on hold because of the birth of her child. In Soap Opera Digest she stated "Life is a buffet and this city(New York) is a wonderful buffet for me."
