SNZ officials saw this as dangerous. (Shock, horror, A-Grade Stockcars making contact ) The race was redded. Neither driver was hurt, Antiss had a flat tyre but was able to continue and Musgrove had no damage. The two cars needed no outside assistance to seperate and had done so before any official got close to the pair. However the SNZ officials ordered the Wellington car to the infield and out of the Championship. Had Musgrove been allowed to continue (and his car was completely race worthy) even a last place would have given sufficent points to qualify for the following nights finals.
the music is the totally inappropriate Bob Dylan tune ‘I shall be released’. He was condemed without trial and imprisoned on the infield.
