Eddie Hawkins. The ex North Island champion wriggles out of his car (the music in the background is a hula) prior to the third heat. How did he pass the safety check before driving onto the track, without wearing his helmet and belts? It was good for the championship that the SNZ officials let Hawkins get his car fixed on the track but at other speedways the same incident would not have been allowed to occur.
