Woods was the best at the track. Two wins and second from grids 8, 21 and 12 are proof to that fact. Unfortunately his local officials permitted him to race with a noisy car and that tarnishes his trophy. Some say that he changed his mufflers then took them off again because they made him over weight, another said that he removed the quiet exhausts because they robbed too much horsepower. I prefer to believe that the officials told him he could race noisy and they would not enforce the noise rules. There has been no official press realease explaining why the 51r car was not trailered for being over 95dcb.
