Wrecking Yard

The attraction that bought more spectators to Waikaraka Park than the facilities could handle was the Mad Butcher Demolition Derby. It was a Derby with a difference. A type of Derby never before seen in New Zealand. 218 cars took the go. There was no race stoppages until but one car remained mobile. There was no need to turn laps, the Derby was contested on the in field with cars allowed to move in any direction. In the end Waikaraka Park was a 4 acre wreckers yard.
This Photograph was a taken by Emma A. for the Action Photographer. One of Ian Abraham's cameras was especially set up for this photo using 100 ISO film and a 35mm APO lens with a UV Filter, an 8 second exposure at F32, with a brief burst of full powered flash, GN 62, seven seconds after the shutter was opened.
