My Super Sappy Poetry Book

The Surfer
I stand before her
Serenely silent, still.
Enslaved by her...
Enraptured.
Slave to her every will.
Let me in, I say,
Whispering, persuasive,
With pleading eyes...
Mesmerized.
She remains evasive.
I turn my eyes away
My head is hung in sorrow.
I feel rejected...
Dejected.
I'll try again tomorrow.
Suddenly she moves,
Thalo robes extending.
Embracing me...
So gently.
Inhibitions rending.
"Daughter", she cries out.
"Bask in these folds of joy...
Wellspring of love.
I have wove
These fine threads to employ".
And so I acquiesce.
Together joined as one
Mother, daughter...
Blue water.
Immersed under the sun.
I am the merest surfer,
Insignificant child
Of a vast world.
I am lured...
To mingle with the wild.
Another Lonely-Heart Poem
Though you are far away
Do you think of me?
Do you hear my whispers in
The breeze upon the sea?
Do you feel my fingers
Running through your hair
In the south wind breaking
Through the twilight air?
When at night before you sleep
Am I on your mind?
In the void that is the dark
Whose image do you find?
When you wake again to light
From the morning sun,
Would you share with me the birth
Of dawn that's just begun?
When you walk the sandy shores,
I walk the pebbled streets.
I stare into your eyes
Through those of all I meet.
I hear your mellow voice
In thunder from afar.
My heart beats right in time
To the strum of your guitar.
I wish that there was someone
Who holds me just as dear.
A knight in shining armor---
Conqueror of fear.
He'd hear the seagulls' cries and
Relate them to my own.
He'd watch each rainbowed sunset
And think of me alone.
Do you think you could, my friend?
Could you feel the same?
Could you hold me in your heart;
Esteem my very name?
I realize that we
Are little more than friends.
I can't make time stand still
I cannot change the winds.
And if I had my way, I'd never let you go.
So if we had a chance, would you let me know?
The Prophecy
Spiritual break...
I had a dream the other night with visions of my Lord.
He hung there nailed upon the cross above a sinful horde.
Demons, devils, Satan, too; they milled around his feet.
They nailed Him with the sins of man and evil of deceit.
Jesus cried a million tears. The pain was just too much.
How could His people hurt Him so? He was their life and crutch.
And thus He waited until Death rent Him with Its claws.
And Satan came to steal His soul, but such was a lost cause.
For an Angel came, his sword in hand, and weapons of God's love.
He scattered all the beasts of Hell with Scripture from above.
And 'lo the Angel held the Book. The word he spoke was Truth.
The demons flinched, burned by the Light. They uttered words uncouth.
They fell and grovelled at the ground, attempting to escape.
But Jesus, resurrected, came----consumed them with his cape.
A cape of Love, and Good, and Hope, and all that is The Way.
He banished them to Hell below, and there they'll have to stay.
I dared not lift my eyes to Him; Jesus was so bright!
While all around my very being was darkness from the night.
"Daughter," said He, His voice so warm, His eyes so wise and clear.
"What have you done to warrant Heaven? Why should I let you in, My Dear?"
I mustered what I had of courage, I fell down at his feet.
"My Lord, 'tis but your Grace alone, keeps me from the Heat."
Remorse
Dear sir, my heart feels pain
To know I've let it rain
On thy life's sweet parade.
I never thought that one
As I could have undone
The prize that bliss hath paid.
If it could thus be so
My head hangs sadly low
At sorrows I have made.
Look now to me again
I vow I am a friend
Thine eyes need not evade.
Grant thy sad heart a smile
I swear to stay the while...
As love shall never fade.
2000 Miles
More than 2000 miles apart
Our hands have never touched
Our eyes have never even met
How could we feel so much?
More than 2000 miles away
But I have felt your soul
I have gazed into your heart
We share a common goal
More than 2000 miles far
The earth I've touched is yours
The sunsets that have washed the sky
Is all my soul outpoured
More than 2000 miles long
So far and yet so near
We share the same bright moonlit sky
You've touched me, too, my dear.
Blue and Pink Skies
Remember that first night we met
Still strangers you and I?
You eased the tension with your tunes
We were both so shy.
Remember how we strolled along
The ancient broken pier?
You held me close and time was slowed
To the trickle of a tear.
And when we ventured to the edge
Of virgin beachfront sands,
You touched my face---hence touched touched my heart---
With mere strokes from your hand.
Remember when we witnessed skies
Dusted blue and pink,
And when your lips locked on my own
Our lives were interlinked?
At times like this when you are far
And phone calls can't erase
The yearning that the night inspires---
I think of your embrace.
Each special moment that has passed,
And each harmonious step,
Is etched like treasured photographs
Like albums I have kept.
So each time that it seems as though
Your absence mars my soul,
I think of things we shared as one
And thus am I consoled.
