This is a difficult CD for me to review, for, while
I love Greenwood with all my heart, it really isn't the most musically
thrilling CD to listen to. The first track, "Extreme Morning" is
scary. It's very bouncy and warm and fuzzy. Triggers a gag
reflex, let me tell you. The next track, "Greenwood Carnival" is
sooo cool. Not only is it a bunch of males singing, it has all the
Greenwood characters singing little songs and it's got this catchy little
melody. The instruments aren't really a big deal. From what
I understand, it's a funny song. But then it goes back to disturbing
with "Ukelele Love of Older Brother", one of the world's most disturbing
songs ever. Let's just leave it at that. "Rightful Sibling
Love" is quite a change. It's a very fast song... makes you want
to bob your head like those things that people put in the back of their
cars and like, the heads move... you know what I'm talking about, right?
"Tomorrow's Weather" is like... dude! It's runway music, it's- CROSSDRESSER
MUSIC! And it's sung by Mitsuru & Shinobu. 'Nuff said.
"Paradise of Cherry Forest" is, uh, another creepy in a bad way song.
It's too sunny and happy. It also doesn't sound very good with men
singing it; Sakamoto Chika is good. The next track is another "Greenwood
Carnival", and I think this is the best one. It's hillarious, and
features a whole bunch of cool people. Now, we all know me, and I'll
get really, really scary if I try to talk about track 8. I'll cut
myself short- I love this song. Track 9, "Forever with You" makes
me burst into manaical laughter. It is Shinobu & Mitsuru singing
a very ambigious love song that maybe, maybe could be about them.
It's not as good as "Tomorrow's Weather". "No Brand Heroes" is definitely
a gem on this album. It's a good song, suits Greenwood, and
was my theme song in 8th grade. "To My Friends" is a creepy song,
but it's actually creepy in a good way. The 4 seiyuu sound good together.
Now, if only I knew they lyrics. I know the lyrics for the next song,
"Shelter From the Rain", and I think it's a very sweet song. It's
different from most of the tracks on the album in that it's actually in
a serious tone. To rip you out of that mood, the next track is "Greenwood
Carnival 3" which has a very Latin flavor. Like all the Greenwood Carnival
songs, it's cool. The last track "Miracle That We Exist" is by the
same guy as the first track, and it scares and disturbs me even more so
than said track. Kill it. Anyway, I like this CD, but unless
you're a die-hard Greenwood fan, you won't.
