Chapter 8

We reached the airport really fast. We got to sit in first class, I had never sat there before! Zac sat on the end, then me, Tay, and Ike. During the plane ride I listened to my Spice Girls CD, and my Hanson CD. Taylor read my "Bop" magazine, because he wanted to see what people were writing about them these days. Zac was listening to his Beck CD. Ike was trying to rest, and watch that Batman movie that was playing.

"When we get to Tulsa," said Taylor to me, "We are going to have an interview with Teen Beat. Then start filming our new single."

"Wow!" I said. "I didn't think I was going to get to do this!"

When we actually shot the video, I got to sit and lean my head on Taylor's shoulder and sing. "Boy those Hanson fans were really gonna get upset!" I thought.

I woke up early Saturday morning….that Monday I had started home schooling. It was different, but I enjoyed it, better than regular school! I walked in and saw Taylor in the kitchen with Zac, Ike and Jessica. They were eating cereal.

"Hi" I said.

"Hey, you wanna go play lazertag today?" Asked Ike.

"Um, no go without me, I just wanna relax."

"Uh, yeah, me too!" Said Taylor.

"Taylor, do you wanna go rollerblading today?" I asked.

"Yeah, sure!" He said.

So we went rollerblading. We went into a surf shop and "I will come to you" was playing. I was lipsinking it to Taylor as a joke! He was laughing. We stopped at McDonalds. 2 girls walked up to us as we were sitting down.

"Hi, I'm Sarah" said one of them.

"Hi, I'm Lindsay, and this is Taylor." I told the,.

"Yeah we know who you are!" She said and glared at me. "So can I have your autograph Taylor?" She said, still glaring.

"Gosh they are being really rude!" whispered Taylor to me.

"Just play along with me, give them what they want." I whispered back.

"Sure" said Taylor, as he put his arm around me and kissed me on the cheek. "Do you have a piece of paper?" He said.

The girl was getting really upset. I could tell she wanted to slap me.

"Thanks" said Taylor. The girl stormed off. I slid back to his seat.

"We really got them!" I said. "That was a great joke! Like we would actually go out" After I said that I realized I might of hurt Taylor. He mumbled "We could you know" under his breath. I acted like I didn't hear him. I smiled at him. Then we went back home. Well I guess I shouldn't consider it home……but Hanson was starting to become some of my best buds! They were…well….like my brothers. And since I was an only child, it was great to have siblings around. The moment we got home Zac and Ike had left a note for me and Taylor on the fridge. It said "Dear Tay and Linds, we went to the Conwell's pool, meet us there."

"Oh," said Taylor" Those are our neighbors, they have 2 sons, 1 age 13, another is 16.

"Should we go put our swim suits on?" I asked Tay. "yeah" he replied back.

I ran upstairs after smiling at him. Oh joy! I am so happy! I picked out my little red bikini….it was a halter with little shorts. And it had sparkleys on it. I hope Taylor likes it! I ran down with my towel to the kitchen. Taylor was there wearing his long boardshorts, They were quicksilver I think. They were darkish green and black. When I walked down the front steps I was walking in front of Taylor. But through the window I could see his reflection staring at me…..eyes wide open! Cool! This summer was going to be so great!

When we reached the pool I pushed Taylor in right away, He grabbed my arm and pulled me across the cement bricks into the pool! Then Zac and I did cannon balls into the pool!

Something I didn't notice when I first walked into the Conwell's pool was their son, Jacob. He was cute…not as cute as Taylor…but he was cute. I got cold so I went into the Jacuzzi, Jacob followed. We talked for a while, he was really nice. We became good friends. I could tell he liked me…a lot!

"Um…Linds?" Said Ike. " We should get going… we are going to New York tomorrow. "

"Ok bye Jacob, bye Kent!" I said. Jacob kissed me on the cheek. I saw Taylor looking when he did that. His eyes looked as sad and foggy as they did that night Zac embarrassed him. I did not return Jacobs kiss. I didn't even smile. I just said bye. We left right after that. As soon as we got home, Taylor ran up to his room and slammed the door. I didn't plan on Jacob doing that…..its not like I liked him or anything. He was a friend…thats all. If Taylor didn't want me talking to other guys he should have already asked me out!

"Hey Tay," said Ike "I'm sorry about what happened. I don't think Linds likes him though,

"I know….but I like Linds…and I don't want her to like Jacob!" Taylor replied. I wasn't trying to listen, but I could hear them.

"Well ask her out then Taylor, you are too shy!!" Screamed Ike.

"Get out!" Said Taylor. Isaac left immediately after that. I decided to try my luck at Taylor.

"Hey Taylor…." I said to him. "I don't like Jacob. He's a friend. I didn't intend on him kissing me…..he just did and I think he's nice….okay and cute. But that doesn't mean I like him in that kind of way.

"Really?" said Taylor. "Well um……" I could tell Taylor was feeling low in self confidence at that moment. "Um…well I just think of you as a friend also" he continued. My heart was breaking. "Why would I ask you out?! Consider me like you consider Jacob!" He tried to sound happy about it.

"Taylor……I consider you more than Jacob…way more….you are like my best friend. You and Zac…….and Ike and Ike and Jenny." I replied.

"Well just go away!" said Taylor. "I don't want to talk to you right now! Or anyone!" I left. I felt pretty dumb. I never knew how much I liked Taylor until now.

"Great." I thought to my self. "I like him the most…..when we're fighting. Just great. God……" At that very moment, I don't know exactly why, but I barged into Taylors room.

"You know what Taylor?! I like you a lot, you are the sweetest, nicest, cutest boy on the face of the planet! So do whatever you want! I guess you just hate me and want to act all cool around me! I shouted. "Well I can't stand you right now!" I broke down crying.

"Linds…" Said Taylor "you didn't have to scream so loud!"

"Don't call me Lins!" I shouted. "And I don't want to talk to you! Bye!" I ran out of Tay's room, right into my bed. I felt so horrible. I called Jenny. That didn't work. She screamed at me for getting in a fight with Taylor! "God Jenny…" I said to her. "You know he is a regular human being…you don't have to worship him!" And I hung up! "Great!" I thought again. "Just great. Now TWO people hate me now!" It was late…I decided to go to sleep. Zac came in before I got into bed.

"Lindsay….." he said. "I'm sorry you had a fight with Taylor…but I still love you!" He said.

"Thanks," I said. "I love you too! You have been so nice to me! Tell you what,…tomorrow lets go out to a movie, just you and me as friends!" I said. " Get my mind off some things." I was still crying.

"Sure!" yelled Zac. "Goodnight!!" and
