Chapter 24: Take A Stand, Shock the Fans

"Please welcome...Hansssssssssonnnnnnnn!" Jay Leno said.

Leno night. Yup thats right. 3rd time on this show. Everything would be answered baisically the same...pretty much everything normal...except the oh-so-burning question...

"So, any girlfriends?" He popped the big one.

From backstage, watching on the TV, I sat alone in the room. My heart beated faster. I think I could feel my 3/4 shirt rising and falling where my heart was. I started to hate my self for doing this to Taylor. Maybe we should tell the whole world we broke up..so the fans could be happy. It was hard to live, knowing you were making some poor little girls heart break. Many people don't realize, how tough it would be to be one of Hanson's girlfriends. Can you imagine all the anxiety-the heartbreak, the tears you have caused? Its not something you should want to go through. Some times I wish we were just a regular, teenage couple. Whenever we went out we'd get autograph requests, picture requests, even marrige proposals. Its so embarrasing. I think I'd like, just for once to be able to kiss him with out getting strange looks or evil stares. I love Taylor to death and I know its worth it...but I see these regular, normal couples and I'm envious.

I anticipated the moment.

"Yeah. Yeah we do. Well, one of us, anyway." Zac said, rolling his eyes at Taylor.

"Oh really.." Jay teased. "And may I guess who?"

They took a shot of the audience. All the chicks knew, but I'm sure they hated to have it repeated.

Jay smiled. "Taylor, perhaps?"

Zac tried to cover for him. "And how did you know?"

"Well lets just say that there is a nice looking girl backstage with a dreamy stare in her eyes...who looks taylors age."

I blushed. Taylor blushed. I watched his face form his adorable, irrisitable little smile.

"Come on, Tay, give us the dirt." Jay joked.

"Lindsay, 14, seeing her for 8 months."

The crowd was dead silent. Leno popped a lame joke about how whenever a Hanson brother said something, tons of people listened.

I watched intently as some girls in the audience shifted in their chairs, wiped their eyes, and groaned.

"Oh God....is that who I think it is?" I said outloud.

The enemy was about to attack. I saw the girls from the hotel, the girl from the plain. Candy, Delia, and...::gulp::, Katie.

They were whispering to each other.

The interview went on.

When after they played Weird, Candy, Delia, and Katie stood up.

"Jay?" They asked. He turned his attention towards them. Katie cleared her throat. "Where is Lindsay?"

"I believe she's backstage."

"Oh okay, thank you!" They sat back down. 'Oh no, Oh God, I know what they're gonna do...they're gonna come backhere and try to jump me.'

I moved into the room with the back up players. The blonde guy (as you probably know him), was my total bud, so I sat down next to him.

And sure enough, Katie and her fan club walked in, playing with their backstage passes.

I stood up. "We meet again." I said. "Hi Katie, Candy, and Delia."

"Oooh, good one, you remembered our names." Katie said.

They reminded me of those brats on the babysitters' club movie: you know...the leader..and the two wannabes. Well here they were.

"The guys wont be here for fifteen minutes. Avery is trying to find Jay but he disappeard..I'm sure they'll find him."

"Great. We're not really here to see them."

"Thats what I thought."

"Look Lindsay," Katie said. "You need to clean up your act. If you want to be Taylor's girlfriend then you got to play by the rules."

"Oh, and what rules would that be?"

"Just some.." Delia replied.

"Thats great."

"Lindsay!" Katie shouted. "Don't give me that smartass atitude."

"Umm..."

Katie came closer to me. She whispered something in my ear. "You know Lindsay...I'm the one who should be Taylor's girlfriend. You don't deserve to be it." She was talking rather loudly.

All of a sudden, the door cracked open. Taylor stormed in and pushed Katie away from me.

"Katie, don't think I don't know what you said to Linds on the plane. I'm not blind to your crush, and I'm not pretending I like you. Leave Lindsay alone." He said firmly.

Katies eyes widended. "You know Taylor, you're way too good for her." By this time tears were in my eyes.

"Leave Lindsay Alone" He repeated slowly and firmly.

He grabbed my hand and ran me up the stairs. Next thing I new, I was on live at the David Letterman show. No joke. He pulled me right on to the stage.

"Sorry, Dave..." Taylor said. "But I got to get this out."

David gave hima strange look. camera men were trying to figure out what this was.

I was standing their, next to Taylor, helpless.

He brought me RIGHT in FRONT of a camera.

Then, he grabbed me around the waist and kissed me, kissed me deeply and softly, long and lovingly. Right on camera. This was ON AIR right now.

He finally pulled away. "I am Jordan.." He said breathlessly. "..Taylor...Hanson."

I looked at him, confused.

"I sing in the band hanson. This is my girlfriend." He pointed to me. "Lindsay..Marie..Goldberg."

I had no clue what he was doing.

"I love this girl, very, very much. I love her more than life it self."

He took a deep breath. He was shy. "And, to all you fans: I LOVE you. I Love you." he repeated. "You guys are the ones who brought me to where I am today, and to this girl...Lindsay."

I saw Ike and Zac enter the studio. I gave them a strange look. What the heck was Taylor doing.

"And I am tired of having to pretend she's not a part of my life. Because she is a part of my life. You need to except that. I'm sorry you girls didn't get a chance. Please DO NOT hate Lindsay!"

He ran off the stage almost in tears.

I looked at Isaac. "What was that?" He asked.

"I don't know..Take a Stand..Shock the Fans?"
