Tom's (Spirit) Baby Picture
Tom and Charles Umlauf (1911-1994), world famous sculptor, with Umlauf's work "Prometheus the Firebringer."
This photo was taken in September 1990 (when Tom had just turned 42.)
The occasion was the unveiling of Umlauf's statue at the dedication of the new Northridge Campus of Austin Community College, where "Prometheus" stands in the center of the campus quadrangle.
As part of the 5 days of festivities, Tom was commissioned to produce and direct his translation of Aeschylus' "Prometheus Bound" as a full, outdoor production.
