On Mondy, December 7, Mariah appeared on the Billboard Music Awards. She won an special Billboard Hot 100 award for the most #1s by a female artist. Stevie Wonder and Queen Latifah presented the award to her. Mariah also performed "I Still Believe" off of her #1s CD.

MARIAH ON OPRAH TODAY

Mariah is set to appear on Oprah Winfrey today along with her "When You Believe" duet partner Whitney Houston. While Houston and Carey are expected to perform their collaborative song together, Carey and Houston will both perform a different song by themselves.

As stated before, Mariah new album, "Ones" hits stores today. Look for it go at least platinum.

MARIAH FEATURED A NUMBER OF TV PROGRAMS

Lat Friday, November 13, Mariah was featured on ABC's 20/20. Interviewed by Barbara Walters, Mariah talked about how she felt trapped in her marriage with Sony mogul Tommy Matolla. One topic Mariah talked about is said she never knew about any movie roles that were offered to her until only after reading about such on US magazine, Variety magazine, and so forth. Perhaps because her ex-husband never told anything about her, speculating on how it might ruin Mariah's hot career.

Mariah was also featured during the prime time hours on MTV. In a program entitled "Mariah TV," Mariah was interviewed by MTV VJs about her career up to this point, who she would like to work with in the future, and so forth. On the same program, Mariah participated in some contest in which normal people sing a Mariah song in Mariah's presence. Talk about pressure.

Mariah was also featured on MTV's FANatic, a program in which MTV showcases two dedicated fans to meet Mariah in person.

WORLD PREMIERE VIDEO TO BE SHOWN ON MTV

The video for "When You Believe" will premiere on MTV tonight. Look for the video to showcase Mariah and Whitney on the same stage singing their respected parts.

THE DIVAS WERE DIVINE

You could say it took an act of God to bring Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston together. Next week DreamWorks will release their first duet, a syrupy ballad called "Whenever You Believe" for the animated Biblical biopic "The Prince of Egypt." There's a lot riding on the song's success: in addition to being the first single off the Moses epic's soundtrack, it's also the first single on Carey's greatest-hits collection, "#1's" and on Houston's new album, "My Love is Your Love," both due Nov. 17. A lot of people were expecting this to be a heavyweight prizefight: two superstars in the ring together," says the music video's directer, Phil Joanou. MARIAH TO DO ANOTHER REMAKE

The last track on Mariah's new album Ones is suppose to be called "I Still Believe" this song was originally sang by Brenda K Starr so Mariah is doing a remake of this song. According to USENET, the "Sweetheart" video has been receiving airplay from MTV, and from the looks of it, she looks great. Looks like I have to see it for myself.

PRODUCER BABYFACE COMMENTS OF MARIAH-WHITNEY DUET

USA Today says both Mariah and Whitney finished recording the song "When You Believe" on August 9. They said it was a struggle to record this song because both Mariah and Whitney had to watch the movie "The Prince Of Eygpt" and they both ended up liking the movie, then Mariah and Whitney had to both agree to sing together and agree they both liked the song and they did. Also since Mariah and Whitney are from different record labels, there was debate on who gets top billing. FILMING FOR SWEETHEART HEART FINISHED

Mariah and Jermaine Dupri has finished filming the "Sweet Heart" video off of Dupri's CD "Life in 1472." Directed by Hype Williams, the video was filmed in Guggenheim museum in Europe. Single to be relesed 9-29.

WHENEVER YOU CALL VIDEO

According to Billboard, "Whenever You Call," another song off the Butterfly album, will go into rotation on VH1 and MTV within the end of this week.

MARIAH IN PRODUCER JERMAINE DUPRI'S NEW ALBUM

Following the foosteps of fellow producer Sean "Puffy" Combs, Jermaine Dupri has a new album released just recently. Like Combs, who also had limited rapping ability, Dupri has several artists making guest appearances. Among them is Mariah Carey. MARIAH, WHITNEY SING TO MOSES

Despite their reputations for having egos of the highest order, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston -- or, for equal billing, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey -- will record their first-ever duet together. The song is "When You Believe," the theme to the DreamWorks animated feature "The Prince of Egypt." The cartoon, due this Christmas, tells the tale of Moses (whose voice is Val Kilmer's). Another place to find Mariah is in another CD compilation. Funk Master Flex, Mariah's favorite DJ, has an album out and Mariah is singing a song on it. Titled, "Freestyle" it also features the defunct Crave Records group "The League."

MARIAH TO BE IN FOUR MAGAZINES

In the August issue of Vibe Magazine, Mariah's featured in the Juice Issue. It discusses how Mariah's gone through life ever since she made it big and stayed there.

In the September edition of Teen People,it discusses relevant Mariah facts. Then in the "Then & Wow" column, it's heard that they showed Mariah's hair styles then (early 90s) and now.

Mariah also has articles about her in the August "Twist" magazine and in the new "Cosmo" magazine issure. It's also said that Mariah and actress Minnie Driver on the cover in "Cosmo."

MARIAH RECEIVES YET ANOTHER AWARD

Mariah is set to receive the "Aretha Franklin Award for entertainer of the year" at the Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards on September 3.

MARIAH CAREY HELPS MISSING GIRL

Mariah Carey has taped a Public Service Announcement that started airing on Wednesday on behalf of a missing 13-year-old girl.

Christina Williams, whose bedroom was papered with Mariah Carey posters, disappeared from a park near her home in Monterey County, California on June 12. Her family, along with the FBI and Fox-TV, asked Carey to make the PSA along with the girl's sister. (MTV News Online)

MARIAH EARNS 1 MTV VIDEO AWARD NOMINATION

Mariah Carey received one nomination at "The MTV Video Music Awards 98" for "Best Female Video" for her single "Honey(Remix)." The awards will be held on the 10th Of September on MTV.

MARIAH HELPS OUT

Mariah Carey is lending her voice to help find Christina Williams, a 13-year-old fan who vanished more than a month ago in California. Carey filmed a public service announcement that is to begin airing today, reports the Associated Press. "I do what I do for my fans, and if someone is in need of help, the least I can do is draw attention to the case," Carey said. The petite dark-haired Christina vanished June 12 while walking her dog at Fort Ord, a former military base. She last was seen wearing an Oakland Raiders jacket, jeans and a striped blouse. CAREY'S RECORD LABEL OUT OF BUSINESS

In other news about the singer, Mariah Carey has put her boutique record label out of business. The pop singer told her staff she no longer wishes to run Crave Records, which she set up last year as part of her new deal with Sony Music (whose head is Carey's ex-husband Tommy Mottola). Speculation created over the possible rumored release of "Close My Eyes," a cut from Mariah Carey's "Butterfly CD." If "Close My Eyes was released as a single in the US, it would be the third to do so on her latest CD following "Honey" and "My All."

MARIAH, DEREK SPLIT

It's over between singer Mariah Carey and New York Yankee Derek Jeter, says USA Today, which quotes a Carey spokeswoman as saying that being in the media spotlight doomed the relationship. The couple will remain "good friends," she said. (People Daily Online)

MARIAH DRIVES CHAUFFEUR TO SQUEAL

A New Jersey chauffeur plans to file suit against Mariah Carey in Manhattan Supreme Court today, says the New York Post. The driver, Franco D'Onofrio, claims the singer made "huge demands" from his car service during the four years she employed it and then "fired the firm without paying off her bill," says the Post, which quotes an unidentified source as saying D'Onofrio "may ultimately have to spill the beans about how he drove Mariah to her secret trysts with the Yankee heartthrob [Derek Jeter] while she was still married to Sony CEO Tommy Mottola." The source also said the driver has details about Carey's hard-partying nights on the town with Sean "Puffy" Combs, Q-Tip, Jermaine DuPri and Da Brat. (People Daily Online)

A Carey is negotiating with Universal Pictures to play the vilain's stepdaughter in OO-Soul, a spy spoof, but she hasn't inked a deal. THe shapely singer did sign with Columbia to produce and star in All That Glitters. Carey, 28, told us "it's the story of a talented but naive singer who rises to stardom." The script-a thinly disguised autobiography, which she is helping to write-is still in development, so fans won't be seeing her soon on the big screen. (Parade Magazine)

World Music Awards

On Thursday evening (5/28), ABC television televised the World Music awards. Mariah Carey performed "My All" to open the show. Previously aired in other parts of the world, Carey recieved the "Legend Award" for being the best selling artist of the 90's (Even though Carey still has the rest of 1998 and all of 1999 to worry about, but who cares...lol). Then Carey closed out the show with "Honey". Carey looked and sang great.

Mariah Appears on Rosie O’Donnell Show

On Wednesday morning (4/29) Mariah appeared on Rosie O’Donnell’s talk show to conduct and a live performance. O'Donnell and Carey seem be good friends, thus creating a comfortable atmosphere for Mariah. In casual attire, Carey performed "Close My Eyes," even though her next single "My All" is to be released this week. Her performance was exceptional. Way to go...
