Waite Wat MacQuaite



From one ot two origins. The first being the middle english 'waite' which means a guard. The second origin of the name is of the dimunitive form of the name Walter. This name was very popular in the eastern section of the Clan's lands. A number of the name of Wat were among the men put into the field by the Clan Farquharson against the House of Gordon in the clan feud of 1666.
