Chapter 2

"Ring Ring"

Just as I got off-line, the phone rang. I ran over to the other side of my room and picked it up.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hey Haley"

"Oh, Hi Jenna. You will never believe what my dad got me for my birthday."

"What did you get?"

"He got me a new computer desk and COMPUTER. He had even already downloaded AOL onto it!"

"Cool. I bet you were excited considering that thats all you have been saying that you wanted and that he actually remembered this time,"

"I know. I personally think its pretty amazing. Hey, how come you weren't online? I e-mailed you, and I was gonna IM you but you weren't on."

"I know. I am sorry, I would have been, but I just woke up."

"You just woke up?" I asked her in shock considering that she is usually up by 7 at the latest on saturday mornings.

"I know I know. I was really tired and so my mom just let me sleep in today."

"Oh, I see"

"Anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to come over and we could go shopping or something."

"Hey thats a great idea. I will be over in a few minutes. I just have to put my hair up and put my shoes on, then I will be over."

"Ok, see ya then. Oh bye the way, Happy 15th Haley,"

"Thanks Jenna. Bye."

I hung the phone up and walked over to my dresser. I found a red scrunchie and put my hair up in a ponytail/bun type thing. I thought that I had put my shoes back in my closet, but apparently I hadn't, considering that I tripped over them and fell right down on the floor, landing on my knees. I soon got up in pain, but not to much, and rubbed it off. I sat on my bed and placed my shoes on my feet. I left my room, grabbing my house keys and turning my light off. I walked down the stairs and out the door, locking it behind me.

"Hey Jenna!" I yelled as I saw her walk out of her house and step on the pourch.

"Hey!" Jenna yelled as she was running over toward me. "I thought that you might have gotten back on-line since it was taken ya a long to get over here, so I got on-line, exspecting to see your name lit up as being on-line. But your weren't. Well since you weren't here yet, I decided that I would just do a member search and see how many peoples screen names had 'Haley' in them. Well to my surprise there were only two, yours and someones almost completly idintical to yours. Instead of having a 'H' at the end of theirs, it had an 'K'."

"Was that person a guy from Oklahoma?"

"Yeah, how did you know?"

"His best friend, Taylor, got that Haley and my screen named mixed up. So when I got on, he thought I was him and instead of IM'ing the right Haley, he imed the wrong one. It was pretty funny. But he was very nice and sweet. We talked for four hours but then he had to go."

"Oh really? To bad he doesn't live here, maybe you two could've hooked up."

"Oh there's still a possibility that that could happen. He lives in Tulsa, the same city as my mom."

"Ew, sounds interesting."

"Yeah Yeah, lets just go to the mall." I said trying to change the subject.

"Ok." Jenna said as we walked over to her mom's car and got in.

"So where do ya want to go first?" I asked Jenna as I saw her head turning. I knew that look all to well. Everytime we go to the mall and she sees a guy she thinks is attractive, well she likes to stalk them.

"I think we are gonna go this way," Jenna said pointing in the direction that the guy she was eying was going.

"Oh no, here we go again," I said, accidently blurting that out.

"What did you say?!?!"

"Oh, I didn't say anything, I think you were hearing the wind or something.

"Ok, if you say so Haley. I think your birthday present has already gone to your head and made you insane.

"Uh, Jenna? Do you have any idea what you are saying?"

"Huh what? Shhhh, I am concentrating."

'Yeah, she's concentrating on that guy' I thought to myself.

We pretty much followed that guy around the mall the entire time we were there. Never once did she say anything to him. Not one single time. I think he must have thought that she was crazy because in every store he went into, so did we. Jenna wasn't the type of person to just follow behind him. She had to flirt with him several times in each store by using body language. After the first four stores we went into, he started to look at her like she was some kind of looney person, which I have to agree.

"Well, ready to go? I think we've done all the shopping we can do in one day," Jenna said.

"Yeah, I am ready."

Jenna called her mom to come and pick us up from the mall. While we were waiting, we played a game. We each picked a color and then watched all the cars go by on the street. We counted how many cars of the color that we picked went by. I picked the color black, and Jenna picked blue. Needless to say, I won like I usually do. Jenna's mom finally arrived to pick us up at the mall around 4:00.

"What took so long?" Jenna asked her mother.

"The traffic is really bad today for some unknown reason," Mrs. Woodfield answered.

The car ride back to Jenna's house was really boring until I saw a sign that had 'Taylor' on it. That triggered my mind to think about Taylor. The rest of the way home, thats all I did. Even though I had just met this guy and by accident, it felt like this was suppost to happen, like it was writen in stone, like it was one big part of my life.

"Haley.....were home," Jenna said waving her hand infront of my face.

"Huh?!? oh yeah, were home. I think I am gonna go home and get on-line, so I will see ya if you get on," I said as I stepped out of the car and walked over to my yard.
