American muscle cars. The phrase harkens us back to an indeliable era where performance cars were cheap and had V-8s. Although these performance machines are long out of production, they will never be removed from our memories. As a screaming GTO or 4-4-2 races past our modern Hondas and Saturns, all heads turn to the roaring monsters, with gargantuan big blocks and standard four-on-the-floors. We are reminded of a wonderful time, both in automotive engineering and by the consumer-consciousness of the car manufacturers.
