missileanus news: anything i can't dump above

yeah, announcements, opportunities and the like:

may 20: silhouette reopen, energy reopen and must-see film
yah, now it's called underground and wah, the toilets so clean! asked on the reason for the now-you-see-it-now-you-don't silhouette, manager dara says, "ah, you ask those dbkl people lah". apparently, of "those dbkl people", one who has taken some sort of a patronage on silhouette and its suffering management and he is "quite powerful one". energy wants to open to a cheesy name and thus almost ensure cheesy audiences. i mean, who wants to go to a place called The Lost World??? haven't we got enough of those bloody dinosaurs already? (review of opening this thursday forthcoming). oh and lastly, there's a film that all, i say all, of you must (er i think) watch. "i think" because haha i haven't seen it. yet, how can you resist with a star cast that includes robert moog, autechre, prodigy, derrick may, juan atkins, atari teenage riot, john cage, afrika bambaataa, carl cox, derrick, carter, dj sneak, fsol, can, ken ishii, ltj bukem, coldcut and whew my fingers tired already.

april 8: mc for d n' b available
a fifth year architecture student in oxford apparently, libaner has even been working on his own lyrics. contact libaner@rocketmail.com.

mar 10: grindcore crashes into techno mayhem
japanese band with one malaysian member, damage digital, have apparently forged further into rythmic digital territory by enfolding gabba, drum n' bass and jungle into their grindcore-noise. will hopefully be playing here in summer with one fellow named wallah and an mc505.

music festival end of this year
includes hopefully every genre of music (plus of course, raves) and as many local bands as possible. multiple venues around the klang valley. the promoters, called orange network entertainment, are really mainly some people from uncut. they are looking for sponsors and suggestions, assistance and bands. contact orange_n_e@hotmail.com.

looking for venue
yes, after holding their last paragon rave, the uncut crew are itching to hit the action again. among ideas for cemeteries and the like, they are looking for more suggestions on possible venues for the next rave. any of you with grandfathers who own skyscraper buildings or large fields/dukuns? if so, contact moggy at 012-2780365.

experimental space available
in keeping with being a patron of the arts, puvan and his cafe bar z are opening a rather lush space near chow kit for artistic use (pref. experimental). it is a two-storey area with a balcony and tables and chairs. also available will be a mac computer and a printer! contact information forwarding soon.

new club opening
that's it. bob wong, the owner of boom boom and areana, is extending his house club dominion to open heaven in the penthouse above the new modesto's kl on feb 28. will check it out and give my two cents worth soon.

old club closing
yes, silhouette is not closed for renovation but closed. apparently, it's got nothing to do with competition from energy's after hours but due to our strident dbkl. memories of torrid smoke and eurobeat-filled nights alleviated by hedonistic babes remain though. do send your comments to me on how you feel about silhouette closing.

energy up for auction
fancy owning your own club and all the staff that goes with it? then consider at least that rent is (roughly speaking) RM80,000 per month. will this ring another death knell in the realm of clubs?

boom boom to close
can this be? yes this can. boom boom's ex-hairdresser proprietor bob wong ain't that strapped for cash, is he? or does he just not want to divert clientele from heaven?
