To keep Geordi's memory alive, Paul's brother David, his wife Teresa and son Daniel Maybury decided to adopt an animal in Geordi's name from the Toronto Zoo.

Together with a friend of Paul and Liz's, the two families came up with the funds to not only adopt the animal but to place Geordi's name on the Toronto Zoo parent board for the 1998-1999 year for which the adoption was made for.

Geordi's name will officially go up on the Toronto Zoo parent's board in early October 1998, to celebrate the occasion, Teresa Maybury designed a special adoption certificate for Paul and Liz in memory of the occasion.
