A Poem for Leroy

A Poem for Leroy

Nothing promised....

But;

If the birds yet fly

Amidst a sun that still rises

Atop a sky infinitely towering

Above kids who still play and run

Beneath trees which still grow

Near homes that offer shelter

On streets full of life

Inside towns that house many

Within my city;

Within my heart

I'll hold you

And for all of my days

Be them many

Be them few

I shall remember you

E v e r y t i m e

I admire your daughters

For whom,

I will secure a place

Where they'll still

Play and run,

Near trees beneath the sun

And

As I gaze into the blue sky

We'll hold your memory high

As birds

That

Yet

Fly

Because

Love

Unlike

Man

Never

Dies

My Brother,

My Friend
