Optimists, Pessimists, and Realists

In this day in age, there are really three major ways to look at the world. They are through the eyes of an optimist, through the eys of a pessimist, or through the eyes of a realist (not the artists). I am a realist. Which of these three do you consider yourself to be? To figure this out, you must ask yourself one question, but consider this question carefully. Is the glass half full or half empty? Listed below, I have a brief explanation of each of these three main groups.

Optimist: This person tries to look on the bright side whenever psssible. They always try to expect the best, and when the best doesn't happen, they try to find good things that did happen. For an optimist, the galss is half full.

Pessimist: this person usually looks on the down side. They expect the worst, therefore, their hopes never get too high, and they are not let down. They accept things, the way they are. For a pessimist, the glas is half empty.

Realist: This person, in my opinion, is a situationalist. They analize what happens, and look at good and the bad things that happen. They expect neither good or the bad to happen, rather, they expect what is more likely to occur. For a realist, one must know in which way theliquid is in the glass. If the glass is being fillied with liquid, and it stops half way, it is half full. If someone is drinking from a glass, and they stop half way, the glass is half empty.

Besides the "is the glass half full/empty" question, there are two more "eternal questions." they are:

1. If a tree falls in the forest, and there is no one there to hear it, does it make a sound?

2. Which came first? The chicken or the egg?

These are my answers:

1. Sound is only made when the sound waves go to our inner ears, to the cochlea, making the sound waves into a vibrations we can hear. To answere this question, one must decide if sound is the making of sound waves, rather they reach someone or not, or if sound is the actual transmition to the ear. I believe it is thea actual transmition ot the ear.

2. this is the only question, I myself, a realist, has not twisted around. A chicken did not automatically pop out of the earth. In reallity, some species of bird was evolving and evolving, until it finally layed an egg, and out popped a modern day chicken. In my opinion, the egg came first.
