The Story
Disney's version of the Tarzan legend is Based on the novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs: "Tarzan of the Apes", The story begins in 1888, when Lady Alice and Lord Greystoke are killed by a wild animal, leaving their little baby without shelter in the deep of the african jungles. Then, it continues when the young boy is raised by a band of apes, with his adoptive mother, Kala a gorilla, who found and saved him. During his childhood, he grew up surrounded by the animals, like Tantor the elephant, his inseparable pal, Terkina (Terk), and enemies like Sabor, the panther. One day, an explorer, Professor Porter, along with his daughter Jane and Cecil Clayton, travel inside the jungle to study the gorillas behavior. But then, when he falls in love with Jane, and without knowing the evil plan of Clayton, Tarzan (now a 20-year-old youth) must choose to protect his home and family or return to his other home with his kind.

Daniels, the Burbank-based animator recently combined his smarts and craftiness to create a new software program that has dubbed 'Deep Canvas', he chose that term to emphasize that the technique relies on the artist. Daniels' Deep Canvas software enables an animator; using a pen-like mouse called stylus, as if using a paintbrush, to create soft, impressionistic backgrounds previously unattainable with a computer. Three dimensions and the illusion of the computer entering the painting and moving through it distinguish this paint program from other software.
