An Outside Version...

I made the above outdoor topiary by turning the cage over and pushing it slightly into the soil. I used floral wire to secure the four end prongs together. I planted three honeysuckle vines at the bottom and trained them to grow up and around the cage. Then I planted a variety of plants like ivy, marigolds, geraniums and dusty miller around the outer edge and inside the cage to add extra color. You can use any type of fast growing vine such as clematis or honeysuckle. I made two of these which I placed on each side of my front door.

...and a smaller version.

I found this tiny tomato cage form at my local Michael's Craft Store. I made it just like the larger version. Its perfect for adding a decorative touch to a stack of books, or anywhere you need to add a touch of greenery in an unusual way.
