Derek Angell

Derek is the musical genius behind The Quazars. His guitar experience dates back to the beginning of 6th grade, when he was 12. He is 15 now. Since then, his guitar collection has expanded from a cheap Mexican Fender Strat, to including a a Washburn acoustic, a Gibson '76 Reissue Explorer, and, his pride and glory, a Paul Reed Smith Custom TBSB. His rig includes a Ibanez Tube Screamer, a Zoom 9050 guitar effects processer, a Tascam 424 4-Track (where all the recording is done), a Dr. Rythm Drum Machine (plus a real set of crappy drums not used for recording), and a Marshall JCM 900 Dual Reverb head through a Lead-1960 cabinet. Derek is a huge fan of Metallica and also likes bands such as Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zepplin. But just to have a good time he listens to Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, James Taylor, and the Barefoot Man. The main influence for Quazar music is, however, Gary Young. Order his cd through CD Universe if you like Quazar music at all. Derek also has a very lovable cat named Dusty.
