PREPARING OUR GARDEN

Finally, a dream realized - a yard of our own! Call us "chips off the 'ol block" but Derek and I are really getting into this gardening stuff! We'd like to thank my parents for all they've contributed, my brother for loaning us his truck to go to White Rose and to Derek's Mom for the many trips to White Rose! I can now see why my folks are so into gardening! It is a wonderfully rewarding experience and a fun thing to do together as a couple! A lot of work but you get fresh air & sunshine and it's an excuse to get outdoors!

We have a lot of visitors to our garden, too - baby toads, lots of birds (cardinals, thrashers, bluejays, purple martins, and red-winged blackbirds from the marsh over the back fence), a garter snake (may he rest in peace - another story!), and a gopher! It is a pleasure to sit on our patio and watch the birds! Very relaxing!

Getting ready to plant the Forget-Me-Nots...

Derek plants our very first tree - a Rose of Sharon!

Derek gets ready to mow our grass for the very first time!

HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE TOUR! NEXT YEAR - THE FRONT YARD & THE SIDE OF THE HOUSE!!!
