Elven Pure Breeds:

All Crystiana knew was she was being chased by four other knights. They wore black armor with demon like visages and had already tried to kill her. She considered that they might be Anti-Paladins who wanted to capture the message she was carrying to the lord of the nearby lands that were part of the Eastern Territory. Her only real advantage was in her horse. It was quite obvious to her that they were far more experienced than her. She had only just become a knight herself. It bothered her to have to run from a fight but it seemed to be her only chance. She brought her pure white mount to a full gallop and hoped she could escape. She briefly wish that an Elven scout had been sent instead of her but it was her duty. The other horses seemed to be falling behind. It looked like she was going to make it. She breathed a sigh of relief.

No mortal race has as long a history as Elves on the Palladium World. During this time, Elven horse breeders have been working to breed better for longer than all the other races combined. The Elves have through the Eons breed Scout Horses, Riding Horses, Work Horses, and Battle Horses. It is believed that some magic was used in the breeding of the horses but it is also believed that very little magic was really used. Their magic was saved for special magical breeds of Fire Steeds and Thunder Horses.

These horses are only available by the handful in the Elven communities still in existence and the Elves will generally not sell these special horses. Occasionally one of these horses will be given to a human who has done a special service for the elves and Mirror Valley sells a small number of Geldings. There are only two places that these horses can be found on the Palladium World one is the Elven Island and the other place is the wilderness community of Mirror Valley. These horses also can be found in the Elven Vale on Rifts Earth. While some of these horses have been known to have gone wild, their special characteristic usually get lost after breeding with normal horses for several generations.

While these horses have been breed for improved stamina and strength, they are also breed for beauty and among the most attractive horses ever breed. They come in all sorts of colors with white and black being the preferred colors by many Elven Knights. The horses also have far longer than normal life spans and are more intelligent than the average horse. The Scout Horses, which are ridden by many Elven rangers, followed by the War Horses are the most intelligent of the horses. Some consider them to be almost as intelligent as a dog and they are extremely trainable.
