REPORT:

The annual CUMBERLAND GUARD LEADERSHIP MEETING was held with great attendance again at the Calvin Prather lodge on Haverstick Road, Indianapolis. There was a wonderful gormet meal thanks to Chef Dee.

 

IMPORTANT DECISIONS
OF INTEREST TO ALL:

1. The Guard Leadership affirmed a re-committment to wear the LIGHT BLUE RIBBONS at all events attended as the Guard.

2. "Blue Ribbon Events" are not just the events where we will wear the blue ribbons, but are the MAXIMUM EFFORT events where we want all Guard members and units to do their best to turn out in the highest numbers possible. They are designated on the schedule with this symbol: .

3. The Guard Leadership voted to take nothing to Chicamauga for tents except flies and shelter halves since this was the only way the hosts would allow us to camp together.


The 1999 Schedule was adopted as follows:

MAY 22-3: CUMBERLAND GUARD TRAINING CAMP
Stoney Creek Farm, Nobelsville, IN. This is a MAXIMUM EFFORT, Blue Ribbon, Event. We will drill a 100 man company as well as the usual battalion drills. Music will provide all calls as we work on the basics of companies and the battalion.

JUNE 12-3: BILLIE CREEK, IN

JULY, HASTINGS, MI
This is another Blue Ribbon, Maximum Effort Event. Let's make it 4 in a row! This is the ONLY event in the nation with a ture military judged tatical.

AUGUST 27-8: JACKSON, MI

SEPTEMBER 17-19: CHICAMAGUA
This will be the BIG EVENT for 1999 - Blue Ribbon Event where we will attend in brigade strength and camp campaign style. Watch for more details.

OCTOBER: HARTFORD CITY, IN
