Oatmeal Choco-Chip Cake

1 3/4 Cups boiling water
1 Cup uncooked oatmeal
1 Cup brown sugar
1 Cup granulated sugar
  1/2 Cup margarine
2 eggs
1 3/4 Cups unsifted flour
  1/2 Teaspoon salt
1 Teaspoon baking soda
1 Tablespoon cocoa
1 large pkg chocolate chips
  3/4 Cup chopped walnuts

Pour boiling water over oatmeal; let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes. Add sugars, margarine, and eggs; beat. Add flour, soda, salt, cocoa and mix thoroughly. Add half of chocolate chips and blend in.

Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips and walnuts on top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
