You tumble from the portal and collapse into an ungainly heap of arms and legs onto soft, moist ground. You lay there for a few moments, completely stunned and unwilling to believe. You wonder if what the old woman spoke of was true and you slowly rouse yourself to take a look around. You stand and brush yourself off, trying to regain your lost dignity. You take a good look around and the simplicity and beauty is astonishing to the eye.

You hear a light titter to your left and turn to look.

Buzzing in the air, there is what appears to be a tiny Human with delicate wings, incredibly beautiful features, and long, thin eyebrows that taper off into antennae. You deduce that this must be a Faery. She looks at you and giggles again.

"You're a funny person," she speaks in a high, light voice, pleasing to the ear.

"Oh, am I?" you say, mesmerized by this tiny being.

She nods and laughs again. "You must be new here," she says, eyes bright. "I've never seen you around here before. Are you traveling?"

You affirm her suspicions.

"I thought so." The Faery looks satisfied. Suddenly, her eyes widen and her body jumps a little. "Ooo!" she exclaims. "I felt a raindrop." She flies under a flower frond, taking cover. The raindrops begin to fall in a steady rhythm.

You look around for shelter. You spot a tree in the distance, and make a run for it, turning back to wave at the Faery. She titters and waves back.

It nearly breaks your heart to think that this innocent creature will one day die. How will she die? By the sword? By the spell? Or will she die of a simple broken heart, spurned by the one she thought true? Her musical voice brings you back to the present.

"Better hurry, Traveler!" she says gleefully. "It's gonna pour...And welcome to Fantasy!"

Run for cover!
