Day 9, part I: June 11th, 1998
Well this is it. The part of the trip we've been waiting for. This is our
Rocky Mountaineer train that will be taking us from Vancouver, through the Canadian
Rockies, and then to Calgary.
Here's a nice picture ofus standing along the train. Notice how
I just so happen to be wearing my Rocky Mountaineer shirt...can I call em or what!
Now this is Royalty. We took the 'Gold Leaf' package, which means you get to ride in the dome car,
which means you get to see 360° around you, which means you can enjoy the view from any angle. Another neet
thing was that the car was not full, so we were able to roam around a bit.
This is the Fraser River, which we will be following for a good portion
of the trip.
And now we're going to cross the river, on a swing bridge that was built in the
early 1900's.
