Blue Poison Frog
(Dendrobates azureus)
Classification:
Anura DendrobatidaeSize: Mature @ 38 to 45 mm in length.
Color: As the name implies they are blue with black round spots.
Biology: Closely related to D. tinctorius. They lay small clutches of eggs 2 to 6 eggs hatching in 14 to 18 days. Metamorphosis takes about t70 to 85 days.
Habitat: Found in low elevations of rainforest under rocks and moss next to running rocky streams.
Note: These frogs will hybridizes with tinctorius so should be kept in separate housing.
