Brooke prepares to give a 25 stream the official 'wilkommen' to Germany. Damn, they're fine looking planes and can whip through any escorts.
P38 escorts weeping behind, 47's gnashing teeth and 51's stunned, the 262 makes this B25 crew highly agitated as well.
BOOOOM! during his 2 runs, Brooke started about 5 25's smoking and blew up 2. His total kills for the day included another 25, a couple of escorts, and unfortunately, this 262. Because (and im quoting) there is no propellor, there is little wind resistance to slow the plane down on landing, which means that the normal method of landing means you fly over the strip at 150 Knots, slowing down not at all. The way to land the 262 is to take a mighty long run up and as youre over the field point the nose up to engage some flaps...or something. Anyway its a right royal pain... but worth it.

In his wake, Brooke leaves a decimated and smoking stream. The Pilots of those 25's may have suffered but they are all thankful that they were specially chosen to be attacked by an Me262. As Gunner Wilks said later, "As he flew by i could have got him but he was just so purty..."
