The buffies line up and the escort slides into place. Westy flew in a Jug for this Frame, you can see him drinking and smoking in the cockpit. Once again his flock gathers. You gotta say, it evokes some kind of emotion seeing this pic. From where i was in an ungunned 110 at 30k, that emotion was nausea :)

This is just a mighty pretty pic. The escorts had this annoying habit of flying in pairs and being really really high.

Here Westy and a P38 chase a Luftwaffe fighter through the stream. You can just make out the tracer of the gunners in the 17's letting rip.

Here, Westy in his Jug gives a 110 a very hard time. Its probably me. Westy definitely shot me down in Frame 2 as i was only 3K out from a stream. I'm still bitter ;) I realised afterwards what had happened to the flight. As we were lumbering along in our 110's with no rear gunners (The rear gun is awful anyway, the only thing a rear gunner is good for is stopping a bullet that might get you, or at least slow it down some), trying to maintain level flight, 2 Jugs swept in from behind and started rolling up the stream. The 110's used evasion method no.1 and dived all over the place. I came up pointing in the right direction with the 2 Jugs on my rear and saw a stream 4 k out. I had a clear run, the jugs were behind and whilst not dropping they werent gaining. My first scenario kill! I bore in on the 17's and suddenly Westy drops on my 6 from above, 1k out and chews me up. Thats ok, i think hes flying Jap for Guad so revenge will be mine. Bwahaha, oh yes, it will be mine.

This is Westy in a 38 in a later frame. They fly well and are deadly in turn fights, but really excel at alt where they provided the close escort for the buffies. Westy got his kills in TG and performed his duties as escort admirably. I only deduct points for his harsh treatment of Me110's.
