Exodus

The pilot episode. The Planet Thundera has become very unstable, and has reached the point of total destruction. The Thundercats manage to escape just in time to see it explode. In thier spaceship, they charter a course to a distant planet. But the mutants attack the ship and damage it. Unable to reach its destination, Jaga, the oldest Thundercat, manually drives the ship to a closer planet, Third Earth, while the rest of the Thundercats sleep in Time Capsules. Jaga dies, and their ship crash lands on Third Earth. Lion-O, the hereditary lord of the Thundercats, goes from boyhood to manhood during the trip.

The Unholy Alliance

The mutants follow the Thundercats and land on Third Earth as well. They meet Mumm-ra, an evil mummy, and they team up to try to get the Sword of Omens from the Thundercats. Mumm-ra destroys the mutants space ship, in fear that the mutants may use it someday to destroy his pyramid. Then, Mumm-ra and the mutants attack the Thundercats, but the Thundercats beat them badly.

Berbils

The Ro-Bear Berbils are a friendly group of robot bears that live on Third Earth. Lion-O and Snarf don't know this, and end up getting caught in a Ro-Bear trap. The Berbils free them however, and they form an alliance. Mumm-ra then attacks the Berbil village, but the Thundercats save it. In return, the Ro-Bears help the Thundercats to build Cats Lair, a new base for the Thundercats.

The Slaves of Castle Plunn-Darr

The homeless mutants also make plans to build their home. But it would be impossible for three mutants to do it themselves. They enslave a primitive race of beings called Brute-Men to do their work for them. The Thundercats go to Castle Plunn-Darr to free the Brute-Men from the mutants. Panthro also builds the Thunder-Tank in this episode


Lion-O’s Training

Trouble with Time

The Thundercats, in need of Thundrillium to power their lair and Thunder-Tank, search third earth for another source. Tygra finds an enormous source of Thundrillium in a cave near the forest. The cave though, makes people age years, in minutes. Cheetara is able to get Tygra out of the cave because of her amazing speed. Tygra, now hundreds of years older, is on the virge of dying. Willa, their new ally, tells the Thundercats to take Tygra to The Fountain of Youth, to restore Tygra’s youth.

Pumm-Ra

Mumm-ra transforms himself into what looks like a Thunderian. The Thundercats welcome him into the Lair, and Pumm-ra steals the Sword of Omens. Lion-O goes after him and defeats him, since the Sword will only work when Lion-O holds it. Thus, Lion-O defeats Mumm-ra for the second time.

The Terror of Hammerhand

Snarf helps a unicorn in danger from a evil group of pirates called Berserkers, and gets captured himself. The leader of the Berserkers is Hammerhand. His hand is made of some kind of steel. Lion-O seeks out Snarf, and saves him with the help of the Unicorns.

The Tower of Traps

Wily Kit and Kat save a Wollo from a Robber Baron. The robbers stole the Wollos wedding present for his daughter, and the kittens go looking for the robbers. They enter the Tower of traps, and overcome many obstacles to get the wedding present back.

The Garden of Delights

Tygra eats a fruit that Mumm-ra had made, and Tygra falls under Mumm-ra's control. Tygra then steals the Sword of Omens at Mumm-ra's request. Mumm-ra gives the sword to Willa and orders her to destroy the Thundercats. She does not destroy them, and instead gives them back the sword, and Mumm-ra's plan is foiled again.

Mandora: Evil Chaser

When Lion-O and Snarf accidentally let loose 3 villains from an old jail cell, one of the villains steals Lion-O's sword. Lion-O is then helped by Mandora, an inter-stellar police officer that put the villains in the cell in the first place, and they eventually re-capture the thieves and get back the sword.

The Ghost Warrior

An evil warrior named Grune the Destroyer is accidentally set loose on Third Earth. They find out through Cheetara's sixth sense that Grune was once a Thundercat, but he got greedy and thurned evil. Lion-O then gets the spirit of Jaga to defeat Grune, since Grune was once a close friend of Jaga.

The Doom-Gaze

Mumm-ra frees an evil priestress named Ta-She, because she can perform the Doom-Gaze. She uses it on the male Thundercats and it puts them all in a trance. Cheetara is not affected though, and ends up defeating Ta-She, thus breaking the spell.

Lord of the Snows

The Thundercats were almost out of Thundrillium, when Panthro discovered a meteor falling from the sky through the Cats Lair. It Turned out to be a fragment of Thundera, and it was pure thundrillium. It lands however on hook mountain, a snowy region which has been unexplored by the Thundercats. Lion-O seeks out the meteor, and battles the snowman of hook mountain for it. Lion-O’s wins, a befriends the snowman.

The Spaceship beneath the Sands

The mutants convince Mumm-ra to raise their spaceship from the desert where Mumm-ra had sunk it. The mutants retrieved a couple Sky-Cutters and a Nose Diver from the spaceship, which helps them combat all the high-tech weapons the Thundercats own.

The Time Capsule

Lion-O becomes homesick, and his memories of Thundera are almost nonexistent. Jaga appears to Lion-O and tells him that on their spaceship, they brought with them a time capsule which was basically a digital recording of Thundera, and its history up to the time it was destroyed. The Thundercats set out to search for their time capsule.

The Fire’s of Castle Plunn-Darr

The mutants use more parts from their wrecked spaceship to build a fire-ball launching machine. They shoot fireballs all over Third Earth until the Thundercats show up and destroy it.

All that Glitters

Mumm-Ra tricks Tygra and Lion-O into fighting each other, and Tygra’s Bolo-whip destroys the sword of omens. The only way to reforge the sword is in the heat of a star, and coincidentally, there was a dwarven star buried deep in one of third earth's volcanoes. Lion-O insists on reforging the sword himself and heads into the depths of the volcano. The other Thundercats summon a fire demon who lives inside the volcano to do it for them, and after doing the demon a favor, he turns on them and keeps the sword for himself. Lion-O recovers the sword, and destroys the mercenary.

Spitting Image

Mumm-Ra creates device that can make Panthro clones. He embeds the spirit of Hammerhand into his clone and set it free to destroy third earth. The third earth inhabitants blame the Thundercats for the terror because they think its the real Panthro destroying their villages and burning their crops. The real Panthro finally encounters his clone and with the help of Lion-O, manages to destroy it. Enraged about his defeat, Hammerhand destroys Mumm-Ra's cloning device.


Lion-O’s Anointment (5 part series)

Part I (The Trial of Strength)

On Lion-O’s 20th birthday, he must pass a set of trials to become the true Lord of the Thundercats. Even though he is the hereditary Lord of the Thundercats, he has not proven himself to be worthy of that title. His first test is to beat Panthro in a dual to test his strength, which he eventually does win.

Part II (Trial of Speed)

On the second day of his trails, he must race Cheetara through the dangerous lands of third earth. Although Cheetara is by far the fastest among the Thundercats, her speed can only last for a short time period. After that, she can run as fast as any other individual. Lion-O takes a shorter, but more dangerous route to make up for Cheetara’s advantage.

Part III (Trial of Cunning)

Wily Kit and Kat stand in Lion-O's way on the third day of his trials. Lion-O must beat them through the maze of infinity. Attempting to stop Lion-O and slow him down, the kids set traps in the maze. He manages however to avoid their traps. In order to beat them through the maze, Lion-O plays their own tricks on them, and tricks them into losing the race through the maze.

Part IV (Trial of Mind Power)

Lion-O must beat Tygra at a test of mind power. The Tiger Clan on Thundera were given special mind powers that enable them to produce illusions to their enemies. Lion-O must be able to distinctly separate the real from the unreal. Lion-O is clever enough to see past Tygra's illusions, and is able to earn his Thundercat insignia during day four of his trials.

Part V (Trial of Evil )

Finally, to prove that Lion-O is worthy to be the Lord of the Thundercats, he must defeat his worst enemy. Mumm-Ra. He manages to find a way into Mumm-Ra’s tomb, and defeats him by throwing his coffin into the evil cauldrum. This is the first time that Lion-O really defeats Mumm-Ra.


Mongor

Wily Kit and Kat accidently free an ancient monster that was banished to an old shine centuries ago. The evil monster, Mongor, begins to destroy the planet, and is much stronger than the Thundercats. He captures all the elder Thundercats with his powers. Wily Kit and Kat return to the shrine to find a way to destroy him. They report back to Lion-O and tell him that in order to destroy Mongor, he has to fight the monster without looking at it. Lion-O defeats the monster and all is returned to normal.

Return to Thundera

The Thundercats briefly show Lion-O how the time capsule they recovered from the caveman works. Curious to see more, Lion-O activates it during his night-time watch, and gets caught in it nuclear projection rays. The rays send him back in time to Thundera, just before the final tremor that destroyed the planet. Meanwhile, the mutants have built an evil robot monster that is destroying the cats lair, and the other Thundercats. Back on Thundera, Lion-O encounters his father, Claudus, and saves him from a mutant attack. In return, Claudus gives Lion-O the plans to the robot that was destroying the Thundercats in his own time.

Snarf Takes up the Challenge

When all the Thundercats except Snarf get captured, it's up to him to save them all. He uses his ability of being able to talk to the other animals to help him rescue the Thundercats. Since the mutants and Mumm-ra don't expect Snarf to come to the rescue, they don't guard the Thundercats, and Snarf eventually frees them.

Mandora and the Pirates

Mandora arrests a pirate on a space-pirate ship. But the pirate captures her, and she sends her space vehicle to Lion-O so he can come help her. He does end up rescuing her and imprisoning the pirates.

The Crystal Queen

The Thundercats think that Snarf is getting too old, and that he is not up to doing as much as he is. To prove them wrong, Snarf saves the Thundercats from another mess. The evil crystal queen, Tartara, captures the Arrietta bird, whose songs enchant the berbils harvests. Lion-O, upset with her selfishness go off to save the bird, but gets caught, and put under an evil spell. Snarf, managing to slip through the crystal queens defenses, saves Lion-O and frees the Arrietta bird.

Safari Joe

An intergalactic hunter comes to Third Earth to hunt the Thundercats. He knows each one's strengths and weaknesses from a hologram machine. He captures all of the Thundercats except Lion-O, and puts them in cells made of Thundranium. Lion-O outsmarts Safari Joe, defeats him, and releases his friends.

Return of the Driller

Driller, Mumm-Ra's servant who captured Panthro for him in Spitting Image, returns to aid Mumm-Ra once again. He drills a hole from the Cat's Lair to the Acid lake, allowing the acid to flow in and eat away at the lair. The Thundercats set out to find the one substance that neutralizes the acid. They find it and plug the hole with it.

Turmagar the Tuska

Turmagar, the leader of the Tuskas, travels to the Cat's Lair to ask for aid in defeating the Techno-Pede robot which is destroying his village. The Thundercats decide to help him, and head off to the village to fight the giant robot. They do defeat it after a long hard battle.

Sixth Sense

An alien spaceship crash lands on third earth, and it can somehow communicate with Cheetara through her sixth sense. She becomes a part of the spacecraft, and begins to feel what it feels. The mutants recover the space ship, and begin damaging it. Little do they know that it is not only affecting the spaceship, but it is affecting Cheetara. In order to save Cheetara, the Thundercats set out to recover the space ship from the mutants, and fix it.

Dr. Dometone

In old scientist seeks the Thundercats to help him save the oceans of third earth. Long ago, a crack was made in the bottom of the ocean which caused the water to drain into the earth's core. Dr. Dometone created a plug which sealed the hole in the ocean, and saved third earth from destruction. Now, an evil plundarian, Scrape, has come to third-earth to remove the plug and mine the rock that is found on the bottom of the ocean. A rock that powers his planet - Blue Plundar. The Thundercats join Dr. Dometone and his frog-type robot Hercie to save the planet from total destruction.

The Astral Prison

Jaga is captured by Nemex, an evil being in the Astral world, and Lion-O tries to find a way to rescue him. Third-earth legend says that the only person who can transport anyone to the Astral world is the evil Nether-Witch. Little do the Thundercats know that Mumm-Ra and the Nether-Witch are one and the same. Mumm-Ra traps Lion-O in the Astral world, and Lion-O sets out to save Jaga. While escaping the Astral prison, Lion-O and Jaga save an old sorcerer named Brodo who had been imprisoned in the Astral Prison for centuries. As a thank you gesture, Brodo sends Lion-O back to his own dimension.

Queen of 8 Legs [Spidera]

Dimension Doom

Wiz-Ra, Mum-Ra's enemy from long ago comes back every 7000 years through a portal that just happens to be in Cheetara's bedroom. Wiz-Ra wears on his head a magical helmet that lets him control minds. When the time arrives and Wiz-Ra comes through the portal, Mumm-Ra steals the helmet. Cheetarah helps Wiz-Ra get the helmet back and free the ThunderCats from its spell.

The Rock Giant

The Thunder-Cutter

Hachi-Man is called by Mumm-ra to desstroy Lion-O. Mumm-ra convinces Hachi-Man that the Thundercats are evil. However, when the two begin to fight, their swors will not work. Then they know that they are allies, and head off to destroy Mumm-ra. But Mumm-ra gets a ninja to fight the Thundercats and save Slithe, who they had captured.

Mechanical Plague

Mumm-Ra revives the great mechanical monsters which the Thundercats had destroyed in the past to attack them. He revives the Mutant War robot, The Driller, The Giant Insect, and the Techno-Pede. Each Thundercat faces a different robot, and each is victorious.

The Demolisher

The Demolisher comes to Third Earth to fight Mumm-ra, and the Demolisher actually defeats him. Then Mumm-ra gets him to fight Lion-O, but Lion-O proves to be too strong and eventually defeats the Demolisher.

Feliner (2 parts)

Vulture-man summons Ratar-O to take him to the planet of the Snarfs to capture one of them and use it as ransom with the Thundercats. Snarf (Osbert J), thinking his entire race was wiped out when Thundera blew up finds out that they have captured Snarfer, his little nephew. The Thundercats set out to find the mutants and save Snarfer. After successfully saving Snarfer, the Thundercats are faced with the problem of returning Snarfer to his planet. Panthro cleverly invents the Feliner, the first Thundercat air-ship. In order for it to work though, the machine need a hyper-space mega-condenser. Snarf reminds him that there is one on Ratar-O's Ratstar. The Thundercats once again persue the mutants to the wreckage site of the Ratstar to "take" their mega-condensor.

Excalibur

The Ancient spirits of evil show Mumm-Ra the story of King Arthur, and explain to him that the strongest sword that ever existed was Excalibur, Arthur's weapon. Mumm-Ra disguises himself as Arthur, and returns to lake where the sword is guarded by the lady of the lake. Fooled by his disguise, the lady gives Mumm-Ra Excalibur. The disguised Mumm-Ra challenges Lion-O to a dual, and Lion-O foolishly accepts the challenge. The sword clash, and Excalibur is victorious. The eye of Thundera is split in two, and the Thundercats become powerless. Merlin, Arthur's teacher and a famous magician stops Mumm-Ra from destroying the Thundercats, and restores the eye to its original state.

The Secret of the Ice King

An old iceburg on Hook Mountain begins to melt, and encased in it is an ancient being known as the Ice King. He begins to destory Snow-Man's caslte at the top of Hook Mountain, and freezes Snow man in solid ice. Snow-Meow, his faithful compainion, seeks out Lion-O to do away with the being and save his master. Lion-O fails, and is also frozen. Once again Snow-Meow sets out to find the other Thundercats. They arrive only to face defeat, and Cheetarah is the only one to survive. She uses the sword to restore Lion-O to normal, and he in turn restores everyone else. They discover that the Ice King is looking for an ancient egg to see his wife, the Queen one last time before he dies. They understand his madness and assist him in finding the egg.

The Wolfrat

A Mechanical Rodent Penetrates the Cats' Lair, releasing a gas that reduces them to 9 inches. Tygra manages to create an antidote for the gas, just in time to fight the mutants who were attacking. Snarf gets another dose of the antidote, and doubles in size. He chases all the mutants out of the lair, but ends up hitting his head on a lot of doorways.

Divide and Conquer

Micrits

A group of tiny creatures (about 6 in. tall) called Micrits are tired of the Thundercats, mutants, and other giants crushing their small towns by stepping on them. While Lion-O is sleeping one day in a field, the Micrits tie him down with Thundranium Cords. Meanwhile, the mutants attack Cats Lair. Eventually, Lion-O convinces the micrits he meant no harm, and the micrits let him go and he beats the mutants. Panthro goes back and puts up signs wherever micrit villages are.

The Super Power Potion

Vulture Man develops a potion that (obviously) gives him super powers. He manages to beat all the Thundercats ecxept Lion-O. While battling Lion-O, Mumm-ra shows up and tries to take the potion. It ends up spilling, and soon Vulture Man loses his strength and the other Thundercats are freed.

Tight Squeeze

Monkian's Bargain

Monkian goes to Mumm-ra and agrees to give him anything if Mumm-ra will make him powerful enough to rule Third Earth. Mumm-ra agrees cleverly, and gives him Power Spheres which make him super strong and give him super weapons. He freezes all the Thundercats, then defeats Lion-O and takes the sword of Omens back to Mumm-ra. Mumm-ra takes it, and then says that Monkian's part of the bargain will be that he can keep the spheres, but he has to stay in Mumm-ra's pyramid for all eternity. Walls surround Monkian, and every time he breaks them down, a new set of walls shows up. While Monkian and Mumm-ra are arguing, Lion-O retrievs the sword and frees the other Thundercats. Monkian gives up his power to be free again.

Jackalman's Rebellion

The normally submissive JackalMan decides to start his own army in hopes of conquering Third Earth by himself. He does manage to give the Thundercats trouble, but soon he is defeated and ends up crawling back to the other mutants at Castle Plundarr, who weren't very happy that he rebelled in the first place.
