Matthew 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
For those of us that have accepted Jesus Christ into our lives we know what this scripture means! For Jesus is the light of the world, so if we have Jesus within us then we should also be a light to the world! We should in no way be of the world, but seperated from the world just as Jesus was seperated from the world.
Jesus lived a pure life, Jesus committed no sin, we too should also strive to be like Jesus. Although we will never be perfect in the flesh, we can, and must do our very best to learn, follow, and obey the commandments of God. We as Christians are required to let our Christianity show! We should be a light for those that are lost in the darkness of the world. We are all fishers of men, and are required to bring lost souls into the kingdom of God, but how can we convince someone to give their life and soul over to God when we are living as the world lives, doing as the world does, speaking as the world speaks! We cannot expect someone to believe that God will make their lives better when we are living just as they are! So we must be different, we must let our light shine!
There is no better time than right now to allow God to show through our lives! Some may ask how do we let him show? By your works! Do you encourage other people? Do you build others up in their faith, and daily accomplishments? Do you lend a helping hand? Do you listen when someone needs to talk? Do you witness about Jesus when the door is opened? Do you ask friends and family to church? Do you give thanks for your food in public? Do you live a clean moral life? Do you set a good example for God? Can someone look at you and say "I think he's / she's a christian"? Are you faithful to church? I could go on, and on about ways to let your light shine for the world, but if you read your bible daily, all of the answers are there! The answer to every one of lifes questions can be found in the bible. If we read our bible, pray, meditate upon the Lord, and seek his face, and do it with genuine love and a true longing for what God has for us, then ye shall recieve! He will never forsake you, nor never leave you! He is the same yesterday, today, and forever! I engourage you to spend more time allowing God to show you his way, his will, and his plan for your life, he will show you this, just pray and seek him!
So let the light of Jesus Christ shine from within you! Do good works! Speak good things! Smile when you feel bad! Laugh when you're sad! Praise God daily! Thank him for your blessings! Thank him for your victories! Thank him for his amazing grace! Thank him for the lessons you learn from your trials! Thank him for never stopping the conviction upon you to do right! And thank God daily for saving you from Satan's hell!
Heavenly Father, I ask you this day God to bless everyone of your children, pour out your blessings upon the sheep of your pasture my Lord. Give them the courage, the boldness, and the desire to let your light shine from within them! The courage to not allow Satan dominion over their lives, the courage to rebuke the prince of darkness and to command him to flee before them in the name of Jesus! Lord the boldness to glorify you before the world, the boldness to witness about you to their family and friends, and people they may meet along their way, the boldness to let the world know that you are the King of Kings and the Lord or Lords! Rekindle that burning desire to know you, and to help others to come to know you, make the desire stronger that it has ever been my Lord. I praise you this day my God, I glorify you before all, I worship you Father, and love you. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
