Chapter 6

Brian

I was getting really into the game but I couldn’t help but notice that Dan’s girl kept on stealing glances at me. She was quite a nice thing, and I wouldn’t mind her as my girl but what was I thinking, she’s Dan’s!

Guess what? Kentucky won the match! It was a mere difference of 5 points, both teams were brilliant and it was an excellent match. I think Landers could have played better but he was concentrating too much on getting his steps right and it ruined his chance to show his stuff to the audience.

It was almost seven when the match ended and Dan’s girl had to back for dinner and he had to send her home so I was left to go home by myself. So much for friendships. This always happen to me when Dan gets himself a chick, I’m gone with the wind.

Something I noticed though. With all the other girls, Dan moved pretty fast. By the end of the first date, they would be holding hands and kissing but Dan told me that he hasn’t touched his girl one bit yet. This girl’s definitely something, man, to wait till now. Even now, they’re not up to anything at all.

They were kind enough to walk me to the bus-stop (not that I needed companionship that badly) and I saw them walked down the road to hail a cab. Scrutinising, I saw that Dan had his fists all clenched, as he does when he’s nervous. Poor Dan, he must be thinking of how to get to her!
