Albion Army List

Warriors of Albion

The Warriors of Albion train from childhood in the martial skills of sword, spear, javelin, and bow. They also train to be hunters, and to live off the land. They are expert trackers and foresters. They are taught to fight both in shield-wall formation, the schiltron, and in openformation fighting.

0-1 Pike warriors of the Demetae...........................12 points

An Albion army may include up to one unit of Demetae Pike Warriors.

Weapons/Armour: Hand weapon, Pike and shield

Save: 6+

Options: Any unit may have light armour (+2 points per model).

Special: When fighting in schiltron, they may fight three ranks deep due to their long pikes, but they do not recieve an armour bonus for their shield, as the pike is a two-handed weapon.

0-2 Sword and scutum (Celtic shield) warriors of the Trinovantes....................9 points

An Albion army may include up to two units of Sword and Scutum Warriors.

Weapons/Armour: Sword and shield

Save: 6+

Options: Any unit may have light armour (+2 points per model).

Special: They fight in sheild-wall formation, and when fighting in sheild-wall they are at +1 armour save, but they are at -1 Movement.

Archers.................................9 points

An Albion army may include any number of archer units.

Options: Any unit may have light armour (+2 points per model) and/or a shield (+1 point).

Noble Warriors...............................12 points

An Albion army may include any number of units of Noble Warriors.

These are the warriors that make up the Fiann bands of the Rhis and the Ard Rhi. They are professional warriors that have trained all their lives for battle, and they are expert with sword, spear, javelin, and archery, they are also trained foresters and huntsmen.

Options: Any unit may have spears (+1 point per model), javelin (+1), bow (+2), and/or longbow (+3).

The Gaesati...........................................22 points

An Albion army may include any number of units of Gaesati.

The Gaesati are a fanatic warrior society that live only for battle, they go into a battle frenzy and are protected by their magic tattoos. They attack with an almost inhuman ferocity.

Weapons/Armour: Hand weapon and shield.

Save: 2+ versus missile weapons, 4+ versus hand to hand weapons, see special rules below.

Options: Any model may exchange its shield for a second hand weapon at no additional cost.

Special: Gaesati always strike their foe with a Strength equal to their foe's Toughness, Gaesati are subject to the rules for frenzy as per the psychology rules in the Warhammer rulesbook. They are immune to all other psychology and break tests. The Gaesati wear magic tattoos that give them 3+ save versus missile weapons and 5+ save versus hand to hand weapons, this is an unmodified save.

0-1 Huntsmen of the Demetae...............................16 points

An Albion army may include up to one unit of Huntsmen of the Demetae.

The Huntsmen are the professional hunters and foresters of Albion. They are skilled at moving silently and using cover to keep from being seen. They are the finest trackers and scouts in the land.

Weapons/Armour: Hand weapon, longbow, shield.

Save: 6+

Options: Any unit may have light armour (+2 points per model).

Special: Huntsmen may skirmish as described in the movement rules in the Warhammer rulebook.

Special Deployment: Huntsmen may be positioned on the table once both sides have completed their deployment you may plae the Huntsmen anywhere within their side's deployment sone or anywhere else on the table providing that they are out of sight of the enemy and not within the enemy's deployment zone.

Huntsmen may move freely through any rough terrain paying no movement penalty for terrain.

Noble Cavalry...........................20 points

An Albion army may include any number of units of Noble Cavalry.

These are the noble mounted warriors of the Fiann class.

Weapons/Armour: Hand weapon, shield, light armour, warhorse.

Save: 4+

Options: Any unit may have lances (+4 points per model), spears (+2), heavy armour (+6), bow (+4), and/or barding for warhorse (+8).

Special: May fight in Wedge formation (Lance formation). Cavalry armed with lance and heavy armour may not have bows.

Chariot Warriors of the Iceni................................76 points

Your Albion army may include any number of chariots. Chariots may be in units of one or more models.

Chariots are sometimes ridden by Albion characters (heroes, etc.) and a unit of Chariots may have a Champion, standard bearer, and/or musician.

Weapons/Armour: The chariot is drawn by two warhorses. The two crew members are armed with Hand weapon, shield, light armour.

Save: The chariot crew have a 5+ save.

Options: Crew models may have longbow (+3 points), javelins (+1 point), or a spear (+1 point). The chariot may have scythed wheels (+20 points), and may have barding for all the warhorses (+4 points per steed).

Special Rules:

Expert Chariot Warriors: They take no penalty for shooting when they move and they have no flank as they are trained to move about the chariot, performing acrobatic feats that are beyond norm.

Chariots as mounts for characters:

A character may ride in a chariot, replacing one of the crew members. A chariot as a mount for a character will thus cost 63 points.

0-1 Sword Maidens of Scathach......................................16 points

An Albion army may include up to one unit of Sword Maidens.

These are the special guards of Scathach and guard her shrine in each of the Rhiad's hillforts, they go to war along with the Fiann and fight to show their skill and to bring honour to their goddess. They are masters of the sword and they perform amazing acrobatic feats in battle.

Weapons/Armour: Sword Maidens are always armed with two swords.

Save: 5+ unmodified, see special rules below.

Options: None.

Special: Sword Maidens are immune to all psychology and break tests as described in the Warammer rulebook.

Sword Maidens have an unmodified save of 5+ against all attacks.

Sword Maidens may skirmish as described in the Warhammer rulebook.

Sword Maidens may leap accross other troops, even to enter into hand to hand combat as a charge move as long as they have enough movement to clear the formation they are leaping accross. This means they may leap across enemy screens to reach their intended target, as long as they can see any part of that target formation. They may also leap across units of their own troops and this will not cause any interference with the troops they are leaping accross.

0-2 Longbowmen of the Dumnonii.....................................................12 points

An Albion army may include up to two units of Longbowmen of the Dumnonii.

The archers of the Dumnonii train from childhood with their masssive longbows, they train to fire in closely packed formations and are the finest archers in the land.

Weapons/Armour: Dumnonii long bow and hand weapon.

Save: None.

Options: Any unit may have shield (+1 point per model), and/or light armour (+2 points).

Special: The longbow of the Dumnonii fires a heavy arrow with a special pyramid shaped arrowhead, designed to penetrate armour, so they have a Strength of 4 and an armour save modifier of -1.

Axemen of the Cornuvii..................................9 points

An Albion army may include any number of units of Axemen of the Cornuvii.

The Cornuvii have trained to use their huge axes effectively in battle and prefer this weapon above all others.

Save: None

Options: Any unit may have light armour (+2 points), heavy armour (+3 points), and/or a shield (+1 point).

Peasant Levies...................................6 points

An Albion may include any number of units of Peasant Levies.

These are troops levied in times of war by the local cheiftans ands the Rhis. Hand weapons for these troops will be axe, etc., never a sword.
