In the running community, it is always sad to see
talent leave us. This is especially true when it
occurs at a young age, when the runner has not yet
hit their full potential. On Thursday September
tenth, at 4:45 pm, Ben Robinette was crossing a busy
intersection while running. He was hit by a car, and
died. Three heroic students he was running with
administered cpr and moved him from the area.
My team dedicated our race Saturday the 12th in
his memory. He held the mile record at his middle
school, and he wanted to run at UNC Chapel Hill.
To everyone: please don't take the gift you possess
for granted. Also, be careful crossing all streets. Be safe!
