Mary-Kate and Ashley Fuller Olsen, also known as the Olsen Twins or the Trenchcoat Twins, were born on June 13, 1986 in Sherman Oaks, a part of San Fernando Valley in California, to proud parents Jarnette and David Olsen. Many people think they're identical because they look alike, but they're actually really faternal. Ashley, a right-hander, is the older one by two minutes to left-handed Mary-Kate.
They're not the only kids roaming around the Olsen household. There's also an older brother Trent and younger sister Elizabeth, or Lizzie. Their parents divorced in March of 96 and their dad married MacKenzie Taylor, giving the twins a step-mother Although their parents are separated, they continue to supervise the twins' professional careers together.
Best known for sharing the role of Michelle Tanner on the ABC/TV hit comedy series "Full House" since nine-months old, the twins have literally grown up before the public's eye. At the small age of only six-months, their mom, at the encouragement of friends, took them to an audition for Full House. There was really no competition. They came in with big blue eyes and didn't cry or fuss. On their very first audition, they landed the role. At this moment, their career took off.
After Full House ended, people thought their careers had ended, but instead it flourished more. Now that Full House has ended, it gave the twins more time to work on other bigger projects such as movies, music albums, and two hot-selling home video series, "The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley" and " You're invited to Mary-Kate & Ashley's". Aside from these, they also have their own books, another mega-success. They also have their own production company, Dualstar.
The twins, now 12, have many more things ahead of them. They will be seen in their own sitcom "Two of a Kind" this fall on ABC and is also working on two more new video series.They still have a blossoming career ahead of them, so we'll be seeing them quite often!
