On two player mode character select screen, highlight the same character with both controllers and hold X. Hold A and choose the character. The character is a slightly different tint than the original.
play with the R
On the title screen, just fiddle around with the directional buttons and Buttons A, B, X, or Y to change colors of the "R" on the logo.
get rid of pause sign
When the game is paused, press Buttons X, Y, and Z to get rid of the screen in the middle.
