Here are a few letters we received from our web page visitors.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: I AM A PROSPECTIVE STUDENT FOR SPRING OR FALL 2003. I JUST VIEWED YOUR WEBSITE AND HAD A FEW QUESTIONS.
1. CAN FRESHMEN TRYOUT OR DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE A CERTAIN NUMBER OF COURSE CREDITS AND/ OR G.P.A.?
2. WHAT IF A PERSON CAN PASS WITH ALL THE OTHER MOVEMENTS, BUT CANNOT DO A SPLIT. WILL THEY BE INELIGIBLE TO JOIN?
3. WHAT IS THE MINIMUM & MAXIMUM SIZE YOU CAN BE? MOST OF YOUR PICTURES SHOW AVERAGE SIZED (7-10) FEMALES, BUT NONE BIGGER (11-14) NOR SMALLER (3-6).
4. IS THERE A CERTAIN AGE BRACKET TO BECOME A VENOM DANCER?
5. CAN YOU NOTIFY ME BY E-MAIL OR CONTACT FOR THE GUIDELINE & TRYOUT UPDATES?

We'd love to answer your questions.
1. Yes, Freshman can try-out. There is no credit requirement for the squad.
2. Flexibility is a big part of dance. We encourage all to try-out regardless of inabilities to perform certain skills. However, we suggest that interested girls begin preparing their bodies for things such as splits.
3. We do not have a minimum or maximum size. We have had girls in all shapes and sizes. But we do stress physical fitness!
4. We do not have a specific age bracket.
5. It is hard for us to notify everyone of try-out information. I suggest you join the mailing list and check the website for any updates.

Dear Venom Girlz, I am just now finding out about the squad. I am so relieved because I didn't' know FAMU had a pom pon squad. I will be enrolling in the fall of 99 as a freshman. I have several years dance experience as well as being on a national dance team champion squad 3 years in a row. Now I can only hope I will be blessed with the chance to audition for you guys. I'm glad that you've found us. We are in search of people with dance experience on a competitive level. We're not just a pom pon squad, but a "family" too. Good luck in joining our family!!

I just recently was accepted at FAMU and I was looking around for some sort of dance/drill team type activities to try and get involved with when I get there. And it looks to me like the Venom Dancers are the perfect way to do that. Hopefully I get to try out and maybe even make it and become a member of a great dance group.

Thanks for all the info on FAMU Venom girlz. My bestfriend and I will be attending FAMU next year and we have been searching for info on you guys forever, but not just for us , but for all the girls on our school's cheerleading and dance teams. Thanks A Lot!

I will be an incoming freshman this fall. I am interested in becoming a member of the Venom Dancers. I have spoken with Mr. Moran and left messages for some to contact me. Venom Dancers Inc. will post this info. on our Tryout Information page as soon as we can. We are still working on Spring try-outs. Information for fall try-outs should be available sometime this summer.
