You can hold meetings between general meetings. Some ideas for such gatherings:

Child-proofing   Have a police officer talk to residents about how they can educate and help protect their children, by making them more aware of dangers.

Fire Safety and Prevention   Arrange for a fire safety officer to talk to residents about fire-proofing their apartments and the building, and what to do in the case of an emergency.

Operation Identification   Run by the Metro Police, this program provides access to an engraving pen, enabling individuals to imprint their valuables: household appliances, stereo equipment, microwaves, vcr's, computers, etc. with their name, or with their driver's license or social insurance number. This way, if an item is stolen, it can be easily identified.

Personal Identification Kit   Prepare a Personal Identification Kit, with the help of Metro Police. This can also be used as a fund raiser, if you supply a photo with it.

Ask for suggestions for meetings at your next floor captain or general meeting. Residents often have worthwhile ideas.

Fund Raisers   You can raise money for your Vertical Watch Program through bake sales, handicraft sales, etc. One group that publishes a residents' newsletter sells advertising space.
