Civil War Reenacting

I became involved in Civil War reenacting in 1994, and my wife and kids soon also found an interest and participate. Aside from being a history buff, I was interested in the hobby primarily as a way to enhance my relic hunting success. Little did I know how much my whole family and I would come to love it! For us, reenacting has many special meanings. It is a way to learn about and honor our ancestors, it is an escape from the stress and maelstrom of modern life, it is a great way to meet and make some really great friends, and most of all…..It is just plain FUN!!!

Some vignettes and faces from the past couple years...

1997 Savannah, Ga. Me and 3 of my Pards went to the School of the Navy, at Old Fort Jackson. We got to shoot the 32 lb.er Cannon and had a blast (no pun intended)!! Other highlights were the visit to Fort Pulaski and nightlife in Savannah (me jolly, jolly grog!)
