Sins of the Past

This first episode gives us a good idea of what Xena is like. She is a person who has led an evil past but now wants to change and do good. It also introduces an important character-Gabrielle, Xena's new friend and trusty sidekick who will follow her down many dangerous paths.

The bit at the start when Xena fights Draco's men to save the village people, it shows right from the beginning that this show will be a icon for the rights of women. The fight between Xena and Draco's staff fight, The music behind it was fantastic and Joseph Lo Duca did a great job. The highlight definitely had to when Gabriele was trying to talk her way out of getting eaten by a cyclops, which inspired the infamous line: "Shut up, I hate chatty food."

Xena and Gabrielle travel on having adventures here and there. Saving a village or two one day and saving the world the next so Xena's sins of the past can be forgiven.
