Saturday Morning--Afternoon

Illinois

Postcard (you didn't think I took this, did you?) of the historic starting point
of Route 66 in downtown Chicago.

The classic Route 66 Map postcard. It's hard to believe we're going to drive all of that.

Renting the Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra at the airport. I wasn't that excited
about it at this point, but it turned out to be a great car for such a trip. It was
comfortable both for driving and as a passenger--which is pretty important
when riding as much as 15 hours a day.

At the Route 66 Hall of Fame (and diner, of course!) at the Dixie Truckers Home
in McLean, Illinois.
