Reaching
by: Julie Wedan
Eyes meet,
then look away,
Stealing glances with wondering eyes,
Saline eyes spill dew-
excess confusion from a bludgeoned heart,
Foggy droplets trace thier way down a sad face,
Misty ovals open wide and watch,
They watch the distant vision-
the saintly ghost
who lures in a stolen heart
with enchanting music,
Weak arms reach out so far,
Cold fingers grasp the beautiful figure's
fragments
that are twisting in teasing, wiry lines,
Warm lips spill white breath
and carry salty gems from a weary eye,
Weary of the painful, wet rivulets
and thick puddles of helplessness,
Still, two lonely pairs of eyes gaze without moving,
Two beautiful eyes stare at two more,
Two equally intoxicating ghosts stand with the mist
obstructing their vision,
And they gaze through the thick separation between them
and wonder what to do.
